I'm checking my credit card bill, and I find a charge for 93¢.

Now I buy some weird stuff, but I ain't never bought anything under a dollar and paid for it with a credit card. What the heck?

It seems that I placed an order and we will say that the total of the order was $40. But one piece of the order had not arrived yet. They ain't got it yet so they can't send it to me.

They have three options. Charge me the $40, send me the missing piece whenever it shows up, and if it never shows up give me a credit for the cost of the missing piece.

They don't like to do that - too much bookkeeping. Plus, customers might complain about being charged for stuff they haven't received.

Option two - don't charge me anything until the missing piece shows up and they send it to me and then charge me the 40 bucks.

They don't like that either. They want the money for the stuff I've already received.

Option 3 - charge me for what they've sent me and don't charge for the missing piece. If it ever shows up they charge me for it. If it never shows up they don't have to give me a refund.

They like that option. So that's what they do.

They charge me $30 instead of 40.

Then a couple of weeks later they're looking through their records and realize they should have charged me $30.93. So they charge me 93 cents.

I get it. I really do.

But it took me a damn hour and a half to figure out what they did. Because it just looked like they were charging me an extra 93 cents, figuring that no one checks.

We just got a bill from Massachusetts for Easy Pass on the Mass Tpke. for $2.50. We used the highway the beginning of October. They don't have till booths anymore. We paid the invoice the end of October for $2.75, so what's this $2.50 for?!?

Turns out after much research and no help calling them, that it must be for the camper !

Checked the cost from a year earlier and they had charged just under $5, so just paid and presume it was for the trailer, but who knows. Apparently too difficult to have an explanation on the invoice, or even a date of the expense for that matter.

All my billings for toll roads when I have traveled have showed the dates and times I passed each point to show how they got to the total billed.

i hear you = i never use the credit card for under $5 - its a scammer trying it out - if it c;lears they come back for lots more ,

as to counting ......ive seen high school kids that work at our range that cant count ...as in taking off their shoes when their fingers run out , one couldnt count the boxes of targets on a pallet in the trap house because there were boxes in front of the ones they couldnt  see , im sorry what are they teaching kids today ? life will be hard for people like that - the teaching profession needs an overhaul
