Calamity Kris Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Remember how your mama always told you to wash new items in cold water by themselves before wearing? There is a reason for that....... This is a t-shirt Uno was given that he never wore. I washed it, along with a small load of dark clothes, before possibly sending it to his nephew. This is how it came out of the washer. Unfortunately, one of my favorite golf shirts was next to this in the washer. My green golf shirt was covered with black. I had to run it again. This was the inside of the washer after the cycle ended. Listen to your mama. 1 2 4 Quote

The shirt was for the 50th anniversary so it was from 2019. In all my years of sewing and working with textiles, I have never seen something simply disintegrate like that. The only places that remained somewhat intact were where it had been screen printed. It's been sitting in his closet for 6 years with no exposure to dampness or any caustic chemicals. The fabric itself being exposed to chemicals or mildew before assembly is the only thing I can think of. 🤷♀️ 1 Quote

A good, solid and well respected brand. It shouldn't have done that so I still stand on something external happened to it like mold. 1 Quote

Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted December 1, 2025 Posted December 1, 2025 Since my wife passed I have had to learn all the housewife tricks...and have apologized every day for all I took for granted. She did all of those things and raised two kids and often had a full time job or did volunteer work (or both at one point), and faced all of our downsides over 51 years. 3 1 Quote
