My son has talked me into trying out a flat trigger in hopes of speeding up my rifle times. I am curious what triggers everyone prefers and why? I know there different makers i am looking for the pros vs cons of the different ones?

Thanks

Slix Springs sells a flat trigger for Uberti rifles.  Easy enough to install.

Pretty sure that's what is in mine.  I'm not sure anyone else's would be that different.  I do like how it feels, in fact, I prefer a flat trigger in anything.

if you will look carefully at the end of the video, that looks like a factory curved trigger he is running….

IT doesn't matter what trigger He's using it takes years and years of practice

I like flat sliding triggers. Pivoting triggers need to be curved.

Have you shot Jed's rifle with the flat trigger?

Some folks don't like how they feel.

I got the SlixSprings trigger for my Uberti 5 years ago and love it.

Kept the trigger from sliding into my finger, and I did shoot faster.

So I bought a second flat trigger for Shortcake's rifle.

After 5 shots she handed it back to me. "Take it off."

YMMV

I have a Slix flat in my Marlin and never gotten bit. I can't say I actually feel the trigger however! After the beep, I'm happy to still be able to count to ten.

The only "flat" trigger I am aware of is the Slix.  The Boogie triggers, both versions, have some curve in them.

Boogie triggers

The real question is not so much the curve or lack of curve but where the trigger is placed in the trigger guard.  Top photo is a stock trigger.

The next photo is a Slix.

The stock trigger is close enought to the top of the lever (where the lever pushes in the lever safety) to pinch fingers depending on how you work the lever.  The Slix sits in the middle of the trigger guard and is virtually pinch free.  Stock, Boogie #1, Boogie #2 and the Slix all feel slightly different.

The Slix website says their trigger is only available for the Uberti 73.  Is this something new?

Old I believe. I've had it for over 10 years. Original donated by Uncle Widder. One day the sear snapped off and Jason replaced it at no charge, it's been running ever since. Been years!

Different Slick maybe!?!

Not sure, but didn't Slick McClade offer that one through Longhunter Supply some years back? Specific to Marlin.

I tried a Slix straight trigger and didn’t like it either. Ended up going to a Boogie #2 and have been using it for several years.

Same here.

The slix springs flat trigger shape takes a bit to get used to and then you’ll not want the stock trigger again.

Get them for every rifle you’re going to shoot.

All of that would be fixed if one put that flip up cap gun trigger tripper on your lever.

This would level the playing field as those with fat fingers can shoot with the lever easier than the ladies can.

After getting " bit" by the stock trigger on my Uberti '73 main match rifle,  I put in a Slix straight trigger.

Might have made me a little faster, but haven't been it again.

I liked it so much that I put one in my backup, also.
