Dear Customer,

The CA legislature recently passed Assembly Bill 1263, which puts additional regulations on the sale and shipment of firearm parts and gunsmithing tools. Unfortunately, this means that there will be some new restrictions on how you order and how we ship firearm parts and gunsmithing tools to you.

Due to these new regulations, the following changes when ordering firearm parts and gunsmithing tools will go into effect on 12/22/2025, so that all shipments arriving in CA on or after the required implementation date of 1/1/2026 are compliant.

  1. You will have to check a box confirming your understanding of the law before you’ll be able to complete an order.
  2. A current state ID will be required to complete an order, so that we can validate your date of birth.
    • You can upload a license to your account at https://www.midwayusa.com/account/documents. Alternatively, if you do not have one on file when you place your first impacted order, we will ask you to upload one as you checkout.
    • You will not need to upload your license on every order; just on this first order and again when your license expires.
  3. Orders must ship to the address on your ID.
  4. Orders must ship adult signature required for delivery.

This law only impacts shipments of firearm parts and gunsmithing tools shipping to CA on or after 12/22/2025. Orders placed before that date, and orders for other products, are not impacted.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience,

You can vote your all you want in this Democrat Hell hole, and you won't change a thing Prop 50 was the proof of that. There are too many in this State who like higher taxes paying more for gas and supporting illegal aliens!

Same here. That’s why they’re so opposed to having to show ID to vote. My wife has a lot of family here and taking her away would break her heart. I’ve got one vote and I vote in every election but rarely come out on the winning side. We’re being overtaken out here by illegals and homeless and that’s the way our governor and most of the state and county leadership want it.

Newsom is definitely headed your way in 28.  Get the word out !

Election reform needs way more action and way less media rhetoric.  Tell/write your Congress-people to  the busy NOW!

I ordered a hammer/sear kit for my CZ Tactical Sport that I'd been looking at. Plus steel guide rods and recoil springs. Just to avoid the hassle later. Both of my daughter's live within 30 minutes with our 5 grandkids ages 4 months to 11 years. If I was younger I'd look at leaving. But turning 73 soon, no.

Just wait until they figure out that USMC armorers used pipe wrenches to remove/replace M1903 barrels in the inter wars [WW1-WW2] years. Either on the banned list or 10 day cooling off period before you can get that new wrench from Harbor Freight [yes, just a touch of humor] 😀.

The new Midway policy is much less draconian than the new EGW policy. Here's a cut-n-paste from the email they sent me a few days ago:

Quote

EVOLUTION GUN WORKS

Dear Valued EGW California Customer,

We regret to inform you that due to new California legislation (AB-1263 and related regulations including SB-704) taking effect January 1, 2026, Evolution Gun Works will no longer accept or fulfill direct orders from retail (non-FFL) customers residing in California.

What this means effective January 1, 2026:

  • No Direct Sales: Retail customers in California may NOT place orders directly with us.
  • FFL Shipments Only: We will ONLY ship to licensed Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) located in California.
  • Ordering Process: If you are an individual consumer, you must purchase EGW products through a California FFL dealer who can order from us on your behalf.

The new laws impose strict age verification, documentation, and shipping requirements on many of the firearm parts and accessories we sell (scope mounts, bases, rails, trigger components, etc.). Unfortunately, these requirements make direct-to-consumer sales to California residents no longer feasible for us.

Recommendation – Order Now

If you are a California resident and need any EGW parts, please place your direct order immediately.

To ensure fulfillment, orders must be placed no later than December 31, 2025.

Note: After January 1, 2026, direct orders from non-FFL California customers will be canceled and refunded.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your past business. This decision was not made lightly, but compliance with the new regulations leaves us no practical alternative.

If you have any questions or need help locating a California FFL who stocks EGW products, please contact us right away.

This is why I left California almost 20 years ago. Its only gonna get worse.

Better watch your back! a lot of people have moved from California to Arizona and continue to vote the same way they did here, so Arizona is well on its way to becoming Ca.

I know, this whole state is changing and not in a good way. I consider myself a born again arizonain. I embraced the arizona ways ( they were the ways I remember growing up with in the small little cowpoke farming town I grew up in.) I hope that all that continue to move here wake up and start voting differently.

I lived in Scottsdale when I was a kid, and I remember it was so different then compared to now and I loved it there! Well Prescott is still a great place to live, and I think your very lucky to get to live there! I would move there in a heartbeat! Take Care V.D.

Tucson and Flagstaff are mostly written off as BLUE, Maricopa County (largest) is Purple - hopefully it will go Red(der) --- Just need to turn the border wall a hard right at Yuma and follow the Colorado River up to Nevada state line.  I can agree with Von Dutch, Scottsdale and for the most part the Phx metro area is very different from what it was 50 years ago... Gilbert was a sleepy farm town, Chandler as well & Mesa just beat to their own drum.

How an a state tax you for moving out of it? Didn’t our fore-fathers use over taxation as an excuse to start a war against their then governing authority?

Not supposed to be double taxation either. But yet sales tax is charged on top of all the other taxes already applied to item like tobacco and alcohol for instance.

Yes, me too for mine except ordered it from Cajun Gunworks, live in a free state, only shop online only in free states.

Lived in LA twice, many years.  Will never return, hope to never need to visit.  Boycotting gun and parts sales to Calif seems to be the best move for everyone minus those stuck there.  Why, because you really are not stuck there.  It is your choice to live there.

For me, it was an excise tax tacked onto the moving company bill.

Not sure how CA can require companies in another state to perform additional record keeping. The feds would need a SORN.

It takes deep pockets to fight so avoiding business might be the best bet.

Well here in Colorado we are catching up to the nirvana that is California very quickly. Our California based governor and the progressive left wing that runs the front range have implemented a 6% tax on ALL firearms related purchases. Ammo and guns of course, reloading components, powders, cleaning supplies including solvent and patches. Don’t forget rods, gunsmithing tools, hearing protection the list goes on and on. Doesn’t matter if purchased local or online the tax applies. Have no say on the western slope as most any bigger city to the east outnumbers the entire western side of the state. Have heard from our local sheriff that “bigger” ideas will be coming in the spring legislative session, mostly following the path that California is creating! Can hardly wait!

The free state of Florida currently has a "Sales Tax Holiday
The current special sales tax holiday is for outdoor gear, nearly a four-month long exemption for 2025.
Hunting, Fishing, and Camping Supplies: September 8 – December 31, 2025. This holiday includes specific price limits for certain items.
Qualifying Items and Price Limits
Ammunition & Firearms: Tax-free without a specific price limit."

We're getting a lot of folks moving here and worry about them bringing their crazy politics with them.
