Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 An early model (1968) without the "saw tooth" serrations in the blade, blade offset about 5-7 degrees, and the aluminum impregnated handle for grip. I'd like to get one in good but not perfect condition, and not the same cost as a college education. I carried one in Vietnam for a year and gave it to my driver when I left because "I'll get one when I get back home." Yeah, Right. They changed the pattern about that time, added those useless "teeth", straightened the blade, and put a smoother new handle on them...and the price went overnight from $45.00 to $150...and I was teaching school for $330.10 a month. If I get one like I want at a reasonable price, I'll name it after whoever sells it to me. 1 Quote
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Good luck. Scarcer than hen's teeth. There's one on e bay that looks like what you want, with a $3,000 price tag. Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted November 20, 2025 Author Posted November 20, 2025 I found one for $1700.00 and that's just as ridiculous. Lots of later versions with the teeth, brass hardware, etc....not what I'm looking for. Thanks, though for letting me know what you found. Quote
Rip Snorter Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 (edited) Not exactly what you want, but the best price I've seen in years! https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/products/1129499/ Note: there are several more if you look further under Gerber Legendary Blades. Major E A Sterner #12916 Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 I just checked mine, sorry it has the saw teeth. Quote
