Deacon Doug Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 Suggestions on ways to store chaps/chinks besides folding up and putting on a shelf? I’m not only looking for the correct way, but also an efficient way. If you need to do something different for Woolies, that advice will be appreciated too. Thanks in advance. Deacon Doug Quote
Sedalia Dave Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 I always hung like a pair of pants. It does require a heavy duty hanger. 4 Quote
Ol Salty Sailor Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 (edited) When I want to pack my chaps for my Harley, I roll them. Here is an example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SaChxwbXDA The process may need to be adapted for your cowboy chaps but it is a starting point. Jiminy Cricket Posted November 19, 2025 Posted November 19, 2025 I fold mine like a pair of jeans and put them on a shelf. I don't know about woolies, never had a pair of those. 1 Quote
Flanigan Flats Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 I have an old fashion cast iron coat hook that I hang them on 1 Quote
watab kid Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 i never thought to ask this but appreciate the thread , ive been folding mine and putting them in my leather bag with holster rigs and boots and suspenders and duster - thats how they travel and get stored , might have to rethink this 1 Quote
Griff Posted November 20, 2025 Posted November 20, 2025 Kinda depends on what type chaps you have. I have a pair of shotgun chaps and hang them folded over a wooden dowel about the diameter of a closet rod (1" - 1-¼" ) to keep them from developing a kink where they hang. My chinks (which I only use riding), are rolled up and re-rolled in the opposite direction every once in a while to keep from them from developing a "set". (Rolled from the waist down so the "set" at the bottom doesn't end up in a permanent curl). Never had "woolies" so I don't know how I'd store them... maybe from the belt with a "clamp" style pants hanger. 1 Quote
