Eyesa Horg Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Refer to the manual and check the cup height etc., be sure the primer tube tip isn't broken. The adjustment for where the cup is under the primer tube, I found easiest to do off the press so you can just see it. Beats tweaking you finally get it A little cleaning wouldn't hurt her either. The spring may have broken as well.
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 First glance: that press needs a cleaning. All that debris can cause malfunctions.
The Original Lumpy Gritz Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 You really need to clean that press up.
Crisco Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Does misfeed mean it fails to feed one, or is it flipping primers over onto their side or upside down?
Dred Bob Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 I was having issues with mine flipping / picking up small primers. The tip was getting damaged and I was going through new tips like crazy. I finally called Dillon and they were very helpful. They recommended that I adjust the primer cup height to 1.404". It worked. refer to section 10.2 in the downloadable manual in the "Troubleshooting section (5)" https://dilloncdn.com/magento/manuals/sdb-manual.pdf
Crisco Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Another thing to check is alignment of the primer cup with the hole in the shell plate. I have had the same thing happen when the cup catches a little on the way up to the cartridge and the little bounce of the cup flips the primer.
Null N. Void Posted November 17, 2025 Author Posted November 17, 2025 Adjusted the primer cup to spec and replaced the blue tip. All good now. Thanks
