41.3 pounds of it!! A hundred ten if servings are 6oz each!

 

edit: box says 120 servings, so 5.5oz?

Never saw it.  I went thru a lot of MRE over my almost 30 years of service.  AFAIK, something such as the above would not have been an "entree" regardless of the box label.  Maybe some form of "holiday" treat, as most MRE contained their own "desert" item.

I suspect that this was either from a subcontractor for the main contractor to add to the full meal pack, or a component made as on one production line/facility by the contractor and stocked to be added to the meal package.  Not something that was to be issued individually on their own.

I don't think it's used.  It's UNUSED.  Definitely wouldn't want USED chocolate pudding !

The ad says "Unissued." My point was WHY did they think it necessary to say that?

I suspect it's because it's military surplus. Military surplus is generally sold as new/unissued, unissued but some wear marks from long storage, issued with minor usage marks, and issued with much wear and repair.

 

Something that was never even sent to the warehouse would be new/unissued.
