Ironic that the story above has a warning about using cookies and the actual Deflock site wants to know your location, all of which can decline....but it is ironic.

Truth is that anytime you venture outside of your abode, and sometimes inside your abode (various devices), you are under surveillance and probably being recorded on video.

Thanks Dom.:)

When I first saw the term “Flock cameras” I thought it was for flock as in a herd of sheep and a benevolent government agency wanted to watch over us and protect us from harm…yeah, right.

Here’s what DDG AI had to say:

Overview of Flock Cameras

Flock cameras, developed by Flock Safety, are automated license plate readers (ALPR) designed for surveillance and crime prevention. They capture images of vehicle license plates and other identifying features, sending this data to law enforcement for criminal investigations.

Key Features

Functionality

  • License Plate Recognition: Flock cameras photograph the rear of vehicles and use AI to read license plates.
  • Data Storage: Captured data is stored securely and can be searched by law enforcement. Information is deleted after 30 days unless related to an ongoing investigation.
  • Alerts: The system alerts police when it detects vehicles associated with crimes or missing persons.

————————————————————-

I noticed that Pennsylvania has no Flock cameras. That’s because nearly every police car has License Plate Reading systems on board. (I learned this from my brother who knows many police officers)
If you have tickets or warrants, if your insurance has lapsed or if your car’s annual “safety”’inspection has lapsed the police know immediately as you drive by. I was told that the  systems can also scan the vehicle to determine if the plates match the make, model and color, which can help spot stolen plates or stolen cars.

I looked at how many there were in Southern California. Yikes! There’s a bunch!

They also generate big revenue by capturing plates for tolls and eliminating human toll collectors, their unions and overhead.

Tv show Person of Interest, except they do facial recognition everywhere.

That is what cracked me up about masking up for covid. Made the facial recognition software's head spin.

That's the real reason that many people still mask up. Doesn't have anything to do with covid.
