Rye Miles #13621 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 I wound up buying a High point Carbine in 9mm. $350 I shot it yesterday at the indoor range. This is at 50 ft. Except for a few flyers at first it was pretty accurate once I got the feel of it. It’s a little rough but I can work with this. You can’t beat it for the money. I was shooting it pretty fast probably too fast.
Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Nah, mate, that wasn't "probably shooting too fast." That was perfectly reasonable Break In and Familiarization! Besides -- with something as mild as the 9P in a carbine -- it's FUN!

Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 well the Hi-points do be UGLY BUT they seem to go bang , every time ya pull the trigger and are much less expensive than other PPCs CB
Pat Riot Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Picture please. I think it’s funny that many people like to hack on Hi-Points yet I have never physically seen a carbine in any store or gun show. I have asked gun store clerks and sales people why that is and apparently every one they get sells very quickly. If Hi-Point Carbines used Glock mags I would definitely order one. The same goes for Sig P365 mags. Congrats on your new carbine, Rye. If I ever bought one it would be this one. https://grabagun.com/hi-point-firearms-carb-9mm-16-5-target-stk-od.html Grab-A-Gun has a bunch of them. https://grabagun.com/brands/hi_point_firearms?category=rifles
Cypress Sun Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 Glad yours worked out good. A few slingers when breaking it in isn't uncommon. I had one, worked great, sold it....but wish I hadn't. I just didn't like the takedown procedure and the proprietary magazines. A 20 round magazine is available, kind dorky looking but it is available. I can vouch for GunClips.Com. I've ordered from them several times with great results. I never ordered Hi-Point type magazines so I can't vouch for the manufacture of the hi-cap mags listed. Hi-Point Magazines

I’m going to order one and probably another 10 rounder.

Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 I knew a guy that had his kitchen table FFL that bought 10 of them one year for Christmas presents.

DeaconKC Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 I've had several and currently own one in .40. Great little guns, and this is coming from an admitted S&W revolver and Sig Auto snob.

Click that link at the bottom of my post above. Grab-A-Gun has a few variations of the .45 ACP model.
