Just shaking my head

I’ll never understand how a law can be unconstitutional for an individual but not the country at large.

Bondi's been a big disappointment for me.  I wish President Trump would fire her, replace her with Ken Paxton, and endorse Wesly Hunt for the Senate in Texas.   At least that way we could get rid of the RINO Cornyn.  The RNC in Texas has been rallying around Cornyn.  I'm also disappointed in the Texas RNC, they'll back someone that they know is a RINO just so they can claim a Republican won.

Yes, a bit to unpack here.

First, Bondi does very well serving her masters. She did so in Florida defending gun control laws, and to the extent she is taking steps with the Trump 2A EO (remembering Trump asked for the ATF to "review" its bump stock stance in the first term), she is doing that too.

So the ruling in the 6th... Good filing, and a filing which many courts have not honored for the simple reason the government could change its position in the future. This is really more a failing of the 6th IMO, and might be reversible on appeal.

Limiting the ruling to the named plaintiffs. Remember all those rulings which caused the Trump administration to go to SCOTUS and defang "activist judges" at district courts issuing universal injunctions? This is the flip side of it, where the admin must (whether it wants to or not in a particular case) defend the limitation for fear of losing it elsewhere. The fix will be for 2A claims (and the issues which resulted in the defanging) to go through the steps needed to establish a class (per SCOTUS guidance). I expect to see these extra steps in the future for many cases, whether young adult firearms purchases or birthright citizenship.

There is another case I am starting to track, the DOJ did make a filing asking a court to throw out a conviction for possession of a "large capacity" magazine. That is good. However, the person at the center of the case has numerous other convictions (and no other criminal history) simply because he and his wife, as a homeless couple, traveled to one of the dirty dozen states with ammunition and other firearms without holding the proper government permission slips to possess firearms, failing to register the firearms, and possessing ammunition. The DOJ did not ask the court to set aside any of the other convictions.

She supported and defended the actions and policies of the state government that employed her!

The jury is still out on what she is doing now!  There is much to like and still much that remains to be seen!!  The “den of thieves” she inherited hasn’t been completely purged yet either!  Some of those remaining have yet to reveal their true intentions!!

Yea she followed the law when she was AG and Gov. DeSantis quickly got two PRO GUN AG’s. Ashley Moody and later James Uthmeir. James Uthmeir pushed for open carry which is now law in Florida.

Yea and BTW I was mistaken, the AG is an elected position so DeSantis didn’t get rid of Bondi but he did back Ashley Moody.
