Texita Draw SASS#77940 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 There was some good discussion at the Bordertown TG meeting concerning a category for shooters who are 90+ years old. (It was also discussed at Land Run) all the discussion I heard was positive regarding the category and that these ladies and gentlemen deserved a category of their own. It was suggested that we could have whatever categories we wanted at the local level. There was also discussion about what to call the category. The following day I asked Teaspoon, a very respected shooter and candidate for this category, what he thought the category should be called. He came back the following day with what I think is a great suggestion. He suggested calling the category “Shootist“ and “Lady Shootist” referring to John Wayne‘s last movie before he rode off into the horizon. Captain Allyn Capron, one of the founding fathers of our local club, will be 90 next year. He liked the idea as well. So, assuming the rest of our club agrees, we will be having a Shootist category at our local matches. 13 3 Quote

Crazy Gun Barney, SASS #2428 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 If I were lucky enough to make it to 90 and still be sound enough to not only be shooting, but to be able to participate at a match.... I would change my Alas to "WOW" and expect the category to be named after me! 😁 I think "Shootist" sounds good for the next 35 years until I get there. 5 Quote

So will try and make it there in a couple more years and join up with Teaspoon and few other Shootists so wait for me my friends. As always.
