Howdie Duit Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) Hello all, I am looking to trade or sell my Longhunter Taylor's 1873 Carbine. It is case hardened with no saddle ring, 19" round barrel. I would ideally like to trade for a pair of Ruger Vaqueritos in 32 H&R but if there is no interest I will consider selling outright. Asking price will be $1,750 plus shipping. Per the website this gun has: Pioneer super short stroke kit Aluminum carrier Slixprings lifter/lever springs Bullet Alignment Kit Stainless follower New firing pin & spring Pioneer carbine front sight Lightened Coiled Safety Spring Leather lever wrap It also has a brown mernickle stock cover. Things of note: I used it in about 5 or so matches. I would estimate about 500 rounds through the gun in total with practice. The wood has a decent bit of handling marks from using it at matches. I added a marbles sight, which I never got fully seated, it never hindered me on the standard distance rifle targets. I beveled the loading gate mortise slightly. I replaced the ejector pin with a homemade one from rebar tie when the original one was bent and fell out. This rifle ran good using truncates cone 125 gr bullets at 1.45" OAL. Reason for trading/selling is that I have decided to make a marlin my main match gun. I plan to add photos tomorrow once I give it a good cleaning after work. Edited October 31 by Howdie Duit 1 Quote
Flat Top Okie Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Hi, I might have the perfect pistols for you. Two baby Vaqueros (the smaller grip .32). The only problem is that one is stainless and the other is CCH. Both have had action work by Roy's Creek Dan (J&J Gunsmith). They have been shot very little. If you are interested I will send pictures. Flat Top Okie 1 Quote

Widder, SASS #59054 Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Hey Pards. I've handled this 73 that Howdie is letting go. It is indeed a super nice rifle. But, he fell in love with MY Marlin .32 (Widdermatic) and the rest is history. He lives close to me and we've done some shooting back on the farm, he has discovered his fondness for the .32 H&R. I guess his selling/trading his 73 can be blamed on me. ..........Widder 1 Quote
1st Sgt BearClaw Toklat Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Since Flat Top Okie has a mixed set. I have 1 stainless baby vaquero in 32 H&R. If you want mine too, I'd go $500 plus shipping and include a set of dies. Quote
