The question came up at lunch the other day and I remember how popular it used to be and wondered about its future. Any news?

NO there are no more matches at the Bar 3. T-Bone has shut it down.

That’s too bad, I was hoping to shoot there someday.

Yes it is. I first shot at the Bar 3 in 2003 and shot my last Comin’ At  Cha in 2014 which at the time was supposed to be the Farewell Party.

My information says that Bar 3 is shut down for Cowboy Action Shooting.  Too much work for the people that used to put it on.  As per T-Bone I paraphrase " We are getting older and just do not have the energy to put on big matches anymore. My help has gotten older and some of them are disabled."  I am giving my opinion.

Sorry you Missed it, Yul.  I only made it out once, but it was a non-stop HOOT!

I made it once and shot the infamous chickens clean and still have a pin saying I did.

This sounds like what is happening in many locations in SASS.  I won't elaborate but Father Time is slowly taking his toll on clubs and individual members.  Kudos to younger members like Howlin' wolf and Ivy Wild who establish new clubs and facilities.  We need more like them.  The future of the action shooting sports is good but most of the new recruits will be sporting black plastic guns and red dot sights.

Yeah!! You, Gunzilla, Korupt Karl, and I had a great time telling jokes and swapping stories!!  The weather was great and the shooting was fast and fun!

My band played on Friday night and we partied all weekend!!  BAR3 was ALWAYS a party and a destination shoot!

Thanks to the Dooley Gang for all the great memories!!

Comin AtCha was always a family reunion where a match or 10 breaks out.  Lots of great memories were made there.  Some "memories" are better left there. 😎

I never shot a great match there! It always seemed like the gremlins showed up to plague me, but I shot them dassit chickens clean a couple of times and the big wagon with the buffalo clean once too!

I always had a great time!  The first time I was there, I was vending hats and clothes and I got there on Tuesday! Nuttn’ helped us pick a location and set up. He came back later to see that we had what we needed and invited us, (me and Hatfield) to supper!

By Thursday night, I was on stage doing karaoke and by the time the night was over, we were both inducted into the Dooley Gang and I was informed that I was part of the “family”!

I never missed another Comin’atcha’!! T-Bone put us up in his home for the next several years and I always had a choice vending space. He hired my band to entertain twice and when he decided to close down, he made sure to call and give me a “heads up”.

I will always be grateful to have been included in the match, and to have shared many other matches with T-Bone, Nuttn’, Ringo, and the gang!  We had one hell of a great time!!

The bottom line is, I NEVER left there that I wasn’t grinnin’ like a jackass eatin’ sawbriars!!

Sassy could come up with some good ones.  Heck, looked in mirror after getting dressed in disco garb and didn't even recognize myself.

Only shot here once, back in '11.  Still one of my favorite matches.

I also shot it once. My memory is bad, I'm thinking it was '09 or there abouts. I was slower than molasses in the winter, but I shot a clean match and brought home a buckle. The ranch hands made some great quesadillas. I'm glad I got to shoot Comin' at Cha...

Been to many Comin at Chas over the years.

When we lived in Oklahoma we never missed one, even went down to their club matches some times.

They were always a hoot.
