J-BAR #18287 Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 If you own any, I will appreciate your opinion on it: how close is point of impact to point of aim out to 10 yards or so? Reliable, or is the new hammer design a problem? I no longer compete, just think they look cool.
doc roy l. pain Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 I had a pair set up years ago. If I remember correctly they hit low, but there was plenty of front sight, so just took a little off the top till they hit dead on for me.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 I'm guessing he meant the 3-click hammer.
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 Hell all the Cap & Ball Colts was three click . So I would not let three or four click bother me. But I would eliminate that retractable firing pin and make it a solid firing pin like Colt intended it to be ! So Saith The Rooster
Dapper Dave Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 I personally haven't had any issues with the retractable firing pin, but Kid Rich showed me as easy fix for them some time ago. One of these days I might get it done, but no issues with three Ubertis yet. I AM interested in the Bisley hammer in a regular 1873.

Dapper Dave Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Been remarried a little over 3 years to the most wonderful woman in the world.
Rye Miles #13621 Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I had a pair years ago , I couldn’t get used the the angle of the grip. Just MHO
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 PLUS ONE for Rye Miles. Lucky for me, I never actually bought one. Some Lustrum ago, a kind and considerate lady CAS shooter allowed as I could try her Uberti Bisley's for a stage. I couldn't figure out how to draw them well (Gunfighter), couldn't figure out how to hold 'em and just sprayed bullets everywhere. NOT my cuppa Tea fer sure!! OMG!! I actually agree wid Rye!! Oh, the Horror!!

Navy Six Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I have a pair of 44-40s with 4 3/4" barrels. With my black powder loads they shot a bit low but as mentioned there was enough front sight to make adjustments. Still figuring out grip angle but I like to use them at a couple of Matches a year, just because.

Griff Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Since Bisleys were designed for one-handed, extended arm target shooting, it's small wonder that some would find them uncomfortable. Quote The Bisley revolver was developed by Colt's Manufacturing Company LLC in 1894 as a target variation of the Single Action Army (SAA). Named after the Bisley shooting ranges in England, it featured a new grip frame, hammer, and trigger designed for competitive shooting and superior recoil control.
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 I have found no difference in how the gun hits. Its all the point of aim that matters. I have found the Bisley grip frame is great for Hot loads 🔥 They absorb the recoil a lot better then the plow handle guns . Rooster

Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933 Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Poncho Villa shooting his Bisley.
