You're supposed to think she's talking about Trump and then the camera cuts down to this blonde woman in front of her and the audience goes crazy.

Who's the blonde woman? I don't recognize her.

Taylor Swift.

I thought that might be who it was. Wasn't sure - to my knowledge I've never seen a picture of her before. I don't listen to her music. Pretty much the only thing I know about her is that she was, or maybe still is, dating a football player. Don't know his name, but I think he plays for Kansas City. I think.

But just something about the way the dark-haired girl - and I don't know who she is either - made that comment about "most important person in the country", I thought it might be Taylor Swift.

Correct Alpo, Kelce plays tight end for the Chiefs.   I suspect you'll hear about the wedding as it will probably infiltrate the headlines like "the royal wedding" did.  The Brunette is actress Dakota Johnson, of 50 Shades series fame.

As already stated above, the blonde is Taylor Swift.  Given her fan base and followers on social media, she has the potential to be very powerful influencer, although it sounds like she is reluctant to use that potential power.  I have seen some state that if she told her fan base and followers to vote a certain way in national elections and they listened she could be a 'king maker'.

And I am not a fan of her music, I prefer talent and substance.

I’m not a fan of her music but she writes almost all her own music. Do you know how hard that is? Try it!🙄 I respect her hard work but I don’t agree with her politics for darn sure!

I would not call her reluctant.   She posted on social media to hundreds of millions telling them Biden in '20 and Harris in '24.

I don't follow her social media that closely, all I heard was that she encouraged people to get out and vote.

Fifty shades of Gray. I've heard of that. Porn, right?

“The most powerful person in America”. Can’t blame that on Otto.

Yep, that wasn't otto. That was me paraphrasing (so I suppose I should not have put it in quotations) because I was too lazy to go watch the video again to get the exact wording.

I'd say it was far more than encouragement. More like a plea. And of course, she told them who to vote for.

I don't think I've ever listened to one of her songs, so I'm not a fan of her music, but recently Taylor Swift sued her music publisher to buy the rights to the music she wrote.

I think it took a lot courage to take control of her future, and to take back what I feel was rightfully hers.

Doesn't hurt that those rights are worth ,potentially, hundreds of millions dollars.

I admire an entertainer who told the NFL to eff themselves when they wanted her do the Superbowl halftime show for free.

Her ultra-super popularity says a lot about our sick, obsessive, celebrity-worship culture. Get a life, people.

What’s sad is she can’t go anywhere without heavy security because of these sick, crazy “fans”.  I wouldn’t want hers or Kelce’s life. It’s a prison.

If she was at all concerned about that, all she'd have to do is "retire", move someplace she isn't from, dye her hair and shut up.

According to google, she's worth $2.1 BILLION. She can do whatever she wants to. Apparently she wants to continue to be famous.

To put it in perspective, Shania Twain was arguably the Queen of Country Music back in the '90s. She's worth $400 million and you never hear anything from her these days unless she's on an awards show or some such. Garth Brooks is the same way.

I think that if either of them still wanted the spotlight, they'd have it.

Crazy, sick fans?

She has created her own prison. Constant, non-stop self promotion, followed by immediate media fawning has consequences. She has made herself a billionaire by following the same mantra for the last 15 -20 years.

Feel sorry for her or Kelce for their wildly popular plan to make billions?

Not hardly.

I don't begrudge anybody for being successful in their endeavors. She, and anybody else is free to follow their dreams, wherever they take them. If she's willing to "pay the price" for being famous, that's fine.

I guess that explains the $50 T-shirts. It's all about the music!

Oh cmon, plenty of singers and groups have T shirts! Without her music she wouldn’t sell anything!

I think that Cypress is commenting on the cost of the darn things. I'm the same way. The T-Shirts I wear are either plain solid color, have a patriotic theme, or a smart alec saying on them. And NONE of them cost more than maybe $15. I also don't advertise for anybody for free. I'll wear a Taylor Swift shirt when I'm PAID to.

That's quite correct, they do. They don't pretend that it's all about the music

They're not selling them for the music, they're selling them for a substantial profit.

The Taylor Swift movie alone made $50,000,000 in one weekend. She doesn't even have to perform but ONCE in a carefully choreographed scenario, no traveling to various venues, no road crew, no real anything.

I don't fault her in her efforts to become a multi-billionaire, she's worked hard at it and her formula has worked great...BUT....

Don't kid yourself, it's not about the music. It's about the money.

And that T-shirt probably costs no more than $5.00 in material/labor to mass produce.

BTW - I'll pay $5.00 to see you wearing a Taylor Swift shirt!:D

No I disagree, IT IS about the music the money comes with the success of the music. All singers and musicians put the music first. I know because I’m a musician and if you think we do music for the money I got news for you, you’re dead wrong! For every successful artist there’s a million starving !!

I can do this. It's my thread, so I could take it off in any direction I want to.

There is an online story. This is a made-up fiction story. Got it?

The president of the US is having a concert. Brad Paisley. And he goes up on stage (the Prez - Brad is already up there) and he says he's got a question.

Says that he and his wife are having a disagreement. Says, "you've been playing since you in high school, right?" Yes sir.

"Why? My wife says it's for the love of the music. But I know that musicians have girls hanging all over them, and I think it's for the girls. Which is it?"

And Mr Paisley, he says, "wellsir, I hate to disagree with you Mr President, but your wife is right. I do it for love of the music."

And the president looks over at his backup musicians, and says, "what about you guys?"

And the backup musicians all yell - FOR THE CHICKS!!!

I started playing drums at 14, it was never about the money, although you dream about making it big! I hung in there with music as a career but I had to resort to teaching drums privately, working part time , I even owned a small music store for 10 years and later I got into piano tuning. I know tons of musicians that play because they love it. A lot have regular jobs and play on weekends. Others do what I did teach, working part in a music store etc. Taylor Swift loves her music and caught a break and made it big. I applaud her for her determination and hard work. I applaud any singer or musician that makes it big even though I may not be a fan of their music.

I disagree.  It may be about the music for her but she could sell t-shirts for doing anything or nothing.  Look how many t-shirts the kardashian family sold.

She can only sell tshirts because of her success with her music!
