Col Del Rio Posted October 6 Posted October 6 What electronic program do the clubs use for scoring? Is it an XL? Something special? Apple? Quote
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 My local club now uses Practiscore. Timers pair with tablets issued to each posse. This eliminates transcription errors. 2 1 Quote
Sedalia Dave Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Practiscore. Has a bit of a learning curve but easy to use once you get the hang of it. It's funding and development is paid for by the same companies that sponsor major shooting sports so unlike A.C.E.S. it isn't likely to become unsupported any time soon. 1 Quote
Edward R S Canby, SASS#59971 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Practiscore is more than a scoring application. It can be used for registration (including payments), squad selection, and category selection. Results remain on the Practiscore website though it will generate a pdf file for posting on a club website. There are videos on YouTube showing how to use Practiscore. I have a free account on Practiscore that allows me to register for matches. 1 Quote

I like Practiscore, this is my big unknown for SASS. Quote

Alias, SASS number, category, phone etc. Same occurs when you register for USPSA, Steel Challenge etc 1 Quote
Eyesa Horg Posted October 7 Posted October 7 We've started using Practiscore at many of the shoots here bouts. My only minor gripe is the scores that are emailed from it! They are micro size print and cut off the tenth stage. Minor overall. Quote

And for the match, how is a real name registration matched to an alias. Seems like an annoying bit of additional administration. The matching of names to alias is automatic when the match is set to SASS Cowboy Action or Wild Bunch. No extra time at all for MD or register. Scores are only public if your club uploads them to the Practiscore website, and it shows only alias I run the scoring for our separate monthly Wild Bunch, Cowboy Action and both NY State Championships WB and CAS. No one outside of the club admins can match your name to alias Edited October 7 by Seth Bradford 2 Quote

When signing up for a modern action match I edit my name to a common name people know me by. The is the name that appears in the match scores. My CAS club does not use Practiscore for registration. 1 Quote
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Practiscore user here. made a master template of all 9 stages, then clone and delete stages we aren't using. Add the name of the match, and we're ready to go One gripe is that as we add new categories (they call them something else, and I'm not at our tablets) they just go to the bottom of the list--haven't found a way to alphabetize them with the ones provided small problem 1 Quote
