Colt Canada's role: YouTube firearms commentator Runkle of the Bailey reported, and the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights (CCFR) affirmed, that Colt Canada is the company performing the disposal of prohibited firearms for the Canadian government. Colt Canada has long held contracts with the Canadian armed forces.

Corporate connection:

 Colt Canada is owned by Colt CZ Group SE, a Czech arms manufacturer that also owns CZ-USA. The relationship between these companies has fueled speculation and calls for boycotts against the wider group
