Red Oak Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Looking for your experiences and recommendations. How soon after having cataract surgery did you go back to shooting? Getting first eye done in 2 weeks, week later the second eye. Red Oak Quote

Peachy Carnehan Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Had an (elderly) family member get the same procedure, he was told by his doctor in south Texas to wait 4 weeks before picking up his shotgun and shooting trap again. YMMV. 2 Quote

John Kloehr Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) I'm now at just over 3 weeks and I'm itching to shoot. Sunday will be 4 weeks, and I might do it. No shotgun but I want to sight in an AK 47 to 25 yards and a friend wants me to introduce his wife to my AR "giggle gun." This will be at an indoor range, so the percussive force is greater than outside. My doc had said 2 weeks, but I have had some halos with the second (dominant) eye so I have been being patient. Hmm, she also might like my 9mm AK-v, 9mm. If you hold it a bit loose, it likes to bump all by itself... Edited September 30 by John Kloehr clarity Quote

Gunslinger SASS 10706 Life Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Had mine done aprox. a year ago. Dr told me wait two weeks on light pistol/rifle and at least 4 weeks on shotgun. Followed his advice and had no ill effects. 2 Quote

I used recovery from a Carpal Tunnel surgery as a reason to get a 22LR sixgun. If a surgery doesn't qualify as a reason to get a new gun, I dont know what does. 😁 2 Quote
