Quiet Burp Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Some help identifying some Uberti 73 Rifle Screws and adjustment advice would be greatly appreciated - Thanks Pards Also what's that Egyptian hierogram marking to the right of the larger screw?? Quote
Sheriff Dill Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 That looks like a QR code of some sort. Maybe for a digital manual ? VTI gun parts have different diagrams for each of the models. 1 Quote
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Those are screws for the hammer spring. The larger screw head holds the rear of the spring and the smaller screw puts pressure on the spring so you can adjust the hammer tension. It's a big heavy flat spring. Adjusting the smaller of the screws will either increase or decrease the hammer spring tension. Hope this helps. 3 1 Quote
Rance - SASS # 54090 Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 (edited) If you adjust the tension spring out to far for less tension.. easier levering.. You may start getting some “failure to fires” jacked out rounds.. Turn it back in about a 1/4 turn at a time until it’s gone.. I got caught up in that in my younger years as I got faster.. Just sayin’ Edited September 29, 2025 by Rance - SASS # 54090 2 1 Quote
Kid Rich Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Take that gun apart you will easily see what those (and all the rest) are for. kR Quote

From left… strain screw, final precise adjustment of main spring. A little turn goes a long way. mainspring retention screw, holds mainspring in place. With my lightened spring I like this tight and holding the spring flush against the tang YMMV. stock retention screw, inserted from other side what you see is the threaded end. lever lock to hold the lever so it doesn’t flop around when traveling. Many cowboys file down or remove so it doesn’t accidentally engage. Hope that helps Gateway Kid via a bouncy bus near Reykjavík Iceland 1 Quote
