My flip phone cannot review nor reply to texts.  I do get  notice that a text has been sent to me and a number that has no meaning to me.  That's all.  I don't recognise the number so I  simply block the message and go on about my life.

 

If anyone wants to contact me I have a cell phone that takes messages, an email, and a steel mail box on a post by my driveway.....or if they are in the neighborhood they can drop by.  I usually have coffee available and my dog loves visitors.

Back in the day before hair of grey I did dozens of party line conversions. Folks were less than amused!!! Most were the only one left on a multi party line, so my showing up to put them back on with someone was not well received! People that were on a two party were easy to do and a lot of them switched to measured service that was at least private. The ones on 4 party lines were not happy at all at having 3 more people back after years of being by themselves. Eventually all party lines went away and got changed to measured and I believe that is not available anymore as well. I think it away with toll calls.
