Pierce Brothers video on last gun I would ever sell.

Got me thinking ?

If for some reason it come down to One.

You could only have one gun for the rest of your life.

What would that gun be ?

It can be long gun .

Shotgun .

Handgun .

But you can only have one gun .

Im a 44 man personally.

I also love the .22 lr

The 12g is extremely versatile.

The AR15 is a adult tinker toy .

I have given this serious consideration for a wile now.

My answer is going to surprise you , I surprised myself with it.

I would have to go with my first generation Ruger security six 4"

357 Magnum.

Its small enough too carry concealed and large enough to do just about evey job that needs to be done.

Insufficient information, why am I being forced to own only one gun?

From 1982 to 1993, I owned only one firearm, this 1981 S&W Model 18-4 .22 LR Combat Masterpiece.  If I had to reduce my inventory, this one would probably be the last to go.  And it would go to a family member, not sold.

My 1911.

It can do whatever I need done from protection, to getting food for the table, to entertaining me.

Three years ago I scored enough ammo to last the rest of my life, plenty of mags picked up over the years, sufficient leather, and everything else required.

Second choice is my Ithaca model 37 pump gun, 12 gauge and ammo galore.

Setting aside for that the question is rhetorical, if it gets to the point where I gotta pick just one, I figure things have got bad... real bad.

So, 870 with extended mag tube or AR?

Gonna go with the AR.  Got plenty of ammo and mags.  It can dispatch zombies close in and a good ways out.  If I hafta bug out then I can carry more ammo.

And I'm not an "AR guy".

My home defence shotgun is a Mossberg 500 with the 20" barrel and the 7 round magazine. 7 round sidesaddle, and another 5 on the stock.

That being said, if it comes down to TEOTWAWKI, and for whatever reason I can have only one, I think that Stumpwater has the right idea.

P239 in 40S&W.  They'll be hard pressed to pry this one from my cold dead hand.

You and I share the same good taste!

Possibly the Calico 22 rifle. 100 round mags and easy to carry a bunch of ammo. If only it wasn't for that boating accident.

Given that criteria: M-1 Garand and by the time I run out of ammo, I'll be using their guns.

The OP didn't specify this as a TEOTWAWKI question.  Choices could change if that were the criteria.

Only one gun? That just ain’t right! No, Sir. Not right at all.

I was all ready to pick my favorite revolver, a S&W 327 Night Guard 8-shot .357 Magnum when I thought “Did he mean handguns? I could just take the 327 and all my rifles.” But no, I had to go read the OP again.
What to do…

What to do…

This is what to do.

What I find funny about these “exercises” of “you can only keep one gun” or “you can only take one gun” is that a month or a year from now I will probably answer differently every time. I am sure others would too.
I say this mostly because pretty much every gun I own is a “favorite” for one reason or another. I do not own any guns just for the sake of owning them. If they aren’t “last gun” material in one sense or another I get rid of it or them.
I am not a collector. I am a user.

If restricted to a pistol, it would probably be the P239, I have all three barrels for the gun, so ammo should always be available.

It would depend on the scenario. If somehow there was a law enacted that restricted civilians to one gun but the rule of law was still in place, I'd choose one of my handguns.

If it were a TEOWTAWKIT scenario and I had to grab one gun to bug out with it would be one of my 12 ga pump action shotguns. Even Wally World still carries ammo for it. It is the closest thing to a "do-it-all" gun from hunting small game all the way up to the largest game with slugs.

Plus Joe Biden said all I would have to do is blast two rounds in the air and it would solve any problem I had.

No You are mistaken.

I believe it was  Kamala who said. All she had to do was Blow

One or Two and they all would come running.

Or it was  something like that

🤣😂🤣

This is a easy question for me to answer.

It will be the last gun the Government says I can legally own.

As far as the end of the world, zombies, mobs I am prepared for bugging end. We have survived too many hard times including bankruptcy to give my guns otherwise.
