Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 A few years back I was given a timer for Christmas. It had instructions in four languages written so small no one could read them with a naked eye. I had a half dozen or so things that it could do, too. Readings were in F, C, and something else. It ran through AAA batteries like crap through a goose, and after the first year didn't keep good time. Las t night I threw it agains the garage wall and this am I bought a mechanical one almost exactly like Mom had in her kitchen until she died. and one we had until it copped out and I got the new one for Christmas. $6.39. So far it works perfectly. No batteries, one function, simple instructions on the back of the case. One more over-priced non-essential computerized POS because some people just feel the need for something that isn't "modern". 4 Quote

Rip Snorter Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 Fortunate to have a bunch of Mom's kitchen stuff, sibling isn't a cooker. Fond memories of her & growing up every time I use any of it. Quote
