Lawdog Dago Dom Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Unbelievable. ‘Law enforcement is a sickness’ to be 'eradicated,' says enraged Chicago mayor - CWB Chicago 2 3 Quote
Pat Riot Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I can think of some other plagues that need eradication. 4 1 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 There’s a part of me that wants to ask, “Do they really elect idiots like this guy?” but I know that they do!! Another part of me asks, “How can people who are free to cast their vote for anyone be so ignorant as to choose someone like this to lead them?” and I realize that better choices are prevented by the political machine that has woven its tentacles into the selection process to the point that better choices are immediately removed from view by hook or by crook. The entire hierarchy of the city of Chicago and of the greater portion of the state of Illinois is a CRIME SYNDICATE or CRIMINAL CARTEL that should receive the treatment that the mayor of Chicago has prescribed for law enforcement in that city!! ERADICATION!! 6 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Well, to prevent infecting the Lord High Mayor maybe all law enforcement should be pulled from all municipal officials, buildings, and functions. 5 5 Quote
Rip Snorter Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Who knew that dangerous, malevolent idiots were an evolutionary stage? 1 Quote
Finagler 6853 Life Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Take away his personal security detail and see what he thinks then. I have traveled enough and been in Chicago where I have a vehement dislike for the city and have a jaundiced eye for anyone that lives there. The only thing good about Chicago is seeing it in my rear view mirror. 6 Quote

It was probably someone from somewhere else that invented it, but the Chicago Dog is the only worthwhile thing that I can think of that ever came out of Chicago!! Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 it makes sense that he thinks crime is a disease. It flourishes when you don't try to eradicate it. Quote
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Wouldn't it be fun to see every LEO and every guardsman and every private cop in Chicago simply pack up and move out? Leave this stupid commie bastard and all of the folks who think like him in there to see how long they could last. Maybe encourage all the firefighters, ambulance and medical units to leave at the same time for their own protection. Fence the whole place off to keep anyone from going in or coming out. I'll bet the fires would burn for months. 2 Quote
Gateway Kid SASS# 70038 Life Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Just curious, how much of the “decline” in crime is NOT a reduction in actual crimes committed, and rather is a result of crimes “redefined”. In Denver (my former area of residence) they changed “assault with great bodily injury”, a felony, to simple assault, misdemeanor. BOOM! Assault with great bodily injury declined 50%!!! Assault on a LEO?, formerly a felony. Now simple assault, misdemeanor, and BOOM!! assault on an officer went down nearly 40%!!! Weird part is claims for on the job injuries among officers went UP by nearly 60%. Probably other examples as well. So tired of all the political lies! Gateway Kid 2 Quote
Blackwater 53393 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Most of the LEOs won’t quit and will still try to do their jobs!! To most, it’s a calling! Their moral compass won’t let them just reverse course and leave the good folks unprotected!! If they picked up and left and were able to evacuate the law abiding with them, it would serve those who despise them right!! Let those predators do their worst… TO EACH OTHER!!! And let the politicians and their machinations devour themselves!! Quote

Trailrider #896 Posted September 19 Posted September 19 The only good things left in Chicago are the museums. And that's if you can get there safely from your hotel. When I lived there as a kid, in the '40's to mid-'50's, there were a few rough neighborhoods, but the only individuals truly in danger were factions of one mob vs another. Mayor Richard J. Daley wouldn't stand for the average citizens being bothered. I do remember that one evening when my folks and I had gone to visit my Dad's folks, we read in the Tribune the next day that the guy across the alley behind us had been blown off his front porch! But that was a mob hit, so the neighbors were relatively safe. Nowadays that neighborhood is a freefire zone! Quote
watab kid Posted September 19 Posted September 19 this says a lot of what gets elected in chicago and illinois - im hoping the population hears this and votes differently - or they get to live with what they voted for , Quote

And I have to include my own Tucson Arizona in that statement. I know for a fact that around here, as long as any candidate had a (D) beside his or her name, they will get elected. I know that there are plenty of good people that would like to see changes, but they can't see beyond that (D). 3 1 Quote

Gracos Kid Posted September 19 Posted September 19 The infection in Illinois can metastasize....I know an officer in Georgia that swears that a case of aggravated sodomy plea bargained to a misdemeanor traffic charge of "Following too Close"........ I arrested a small-town mayor for "Felony False Statement" in a major tax fraud case and it was reduced to a traffic charge of "Driving with an Improper Tag"......... The term criminal justice is seemingly just a misnomer anymore....... 1 1 Quote

Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I went to Chicago once in 1992 with my dad, uncle and a buddy. We went to the new Comiskey park. It was new in 1991. We had a ball, stayed in Indiana about a half hour from the ballpark. Stayed in a hotel and left in the morning. Didn’t see any of Chicago except for the drive to Comiskey park. Quote

That and Gino's East pizza, fantastic stuff, and the U-505 on display at the Museum of Science and Industry, the only U boat captured at sea. Other than THAT, (leaving off Rush Street), nah, nothin'.
