Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 I saw a few of them when I worked in gun shops. They were fun to play with(the action was weird but worked well) but I never gor to shoot one. Uh...burJESS? I always heard it pronounced Burjuss.

GARE-und? ga-RAND? Those are the two most common pronunciations. But I've read once upon a time that the gentleman in question pronounced his name ga-RUND. Or we have carbine. Some people say car-bean. Some say car-bine, but in the John Wayne movie Rio Bravo, Colorado (Ricky Nelson) asked Sheriff Chance, "You always carry that carbon cocked?" Sounded just like he was talking about carbon paper.

H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619 Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 I have a non-folding one. These things really should be SASS Legal, but they aren't.

Rooster Ron Wayne Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Burgess was a very impressive gun designer who was over shadowed by Browning . But highly under rated. Rooster
