Big matches, I only use loads with new brass.  Yep, always take a backup for each gun.  Fortunately, my wife and I are using similar rifles and shotguns, so only one of each.  Also have a spare parts kit that goes to the match as well as a good cleaning kit and tools.

I’d strongly recommend taking some time to go visit the OKC bombing memorial.  It’s hard to describe the feeling that came over me there. We need to remember things like this.  It’s a very stark reminder that evil exists

Tell me about some of the things you do to prep for a big match like Land Run, EOT, or a State Championship.

Do you make special match grade ammo?  NO  Do you disassemble and thoroughly clean each gun?  YES  Test fire?  NO (It just might break)  Do you pack spare parts? YES, limited to a couple of springs.  Do you take back up guns? YES  (and maybe backups for the backups)!  Pack a small cleaning kit? NO... a LARGE one... AND tool kit! Do you make a check list?  NO, that would be akin to being organized and leave me without an excuse when I forget something.

I'm with @Sixgun Seamus on that. Maybe throw in a few extra breakdownable parts to keep me out of Boomstick's trailer.

Double check any prescription drugs you need. If you forget them, emergency refills start at $10.00 per pill.

Shortcake brings her checkbook collection.

This is true. I went to a match up near Tyler, TX and found out I had forgot to pack my meds. I take 7 daily and ended up having to call my DOC and CVS and having them get with the local pharmacy for a weeks supply. It was not cheap. Now I just throw a 30 day supply bottle of each in a baggie and put it in the RV.
