Pat Riot Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) Happy Star Trek Day to all Trekkies and fans of Star Trek! Like the title bubbles say; add memes, funnies, trivia, photos, anything Star Trek related. You can even grumble about how silly it is…Cowboy Action Shooter. …and right off the bat I had to make edits. Need more coffee. Edited September 8 by Pat Riot 2 5 Quote

Dogmeat Dad, SASS #48563L Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Space, the final Front Ear.... Loved that show, and still do! Have several books about it's production, props, etc. 4 Quote

We still had a B&W TV I saw the very first Star Trek episode aired and I was hooked! Thankfully my Dad was hooked too as he controlled the TV via me, the remote control. I was 5 years old when Star Trek aired. The other kids in first grade thought I was weird when I talked about the show. I didn’t see Star Trek in color until I saw reruns years later. I thought it was a Black & White TV show. 3 Quote
Rye Miles #13621 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 They changed the opening line, Where no MAN has gone before to Where NO ONE has gone before when Picard was captain. 🙄 2 Quote

Pat Riot Posted September 8 Author Posted September 8 I remember the episode in the first season where Spock is attacked by the parasite that attaches to his back and he was in pain and blind. I was sitting there in the living crying as I watched because I didn’t want Spock to die. I remember my Dad seemed a bit amused at how upset I was but he told me “You don’t have to cry. It’s Spock! Nothing can hurt Spock. He’s like a Super Human. You’ll see.” And he was right! Spock pulled through! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_–_Annihilate! 5 1 Quote

Cypress Sun Posted September 8 Posted September 8 My favorite episode is This Side of Paradise. That's the one where plants spray spores that makes people carefree and happy but makes them so carefree and happy that they don't want to be productive. Spock falls in love with Jill Ireland's (the most beautiful woman ever on Star Trek) character and has human emotions. The only way to counteract the spores effects are to piss off the affected person. After all of the crew of the Enterprise and planet are given the 'remedy', Kirk asks Spock about his experience. Spock says that he has little to say about it except that it was the first time in his life that he'd ever been happy. 3 Quote

There are a couple that I don’t care for, but will watch them any way. The 2 episodes with “Harry Mudd” as an antagonist are probably my least favorite. 3 2 Quote

Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) I was stationed on Okinawa and later in Vietnam 1966-1969. I never saw the first three years of Star Trek, but picked up an episode every so often after I got home. My kids bought me set of cassettes for Christmas about 1995. I had never seen all of them and most that I had seen weren't in sequence until then. On a wall in my office among many other guns I have a phaser....just like Spock's "glue gun" above. Some day it too will be an antique. Edited September 9 by Forty Rod SASS 3935 3 Quote
