Let me expand my post with day of the week.  Monday through Friday I drink Green Mountain Nantucket pods which I brew into my carafe for work.  Uno brews Folgers red can for himself while I'm at work.  On the weekends, we brew "weekend coffee" which is typically Fire Department Doughnut Shop or Fire Department Medium roast.  During the holidays, Fire Department Coffee roasts an incredible holiday brew.  We try to stock up on that when it comes out.

My wife and I saw Firehouse or Fire Dept Coffee the other day at Walmart. I had never heard of it so I didn’t buy any of it. I will have to try it now that you said it was one of your weekend coffees. Thank you.

Forty, if you should ever have to hit a Starbucks a very good coffee to ask for “black”, no additives, is their “Blonde” coffee.
Just ask for “a Blonde pour over”. They rarely have it ready made.
A “pour over” is when they take a special carafe and the put a filter in the top, put the right amount of ground coffee in then they pour in piping hot water to make you your very own cup of coffee.
Their Blonde roast is not roasted as long as their other beans and it contains more caffeine. It has a medium roast taste and is smooth even if you ask for it made “Strong”.

Try it. You’ll like it. I’m sure.

No I won't, because I have no urge to ever go in a Starbucks again as long as I live.  Thanks for the info, though.  I'll pass it along to some of my artsy-fartsy yuppy friends.

Community coffee has got more expensive lately but it's still as good as ever, their market has expanded some but it's probably still not in your area. That's not useful info for you but I'm answering which is my favorite. I found a local store brand that's a good price and tastes good, maybe you should try a few and see if you find one you like. I could probably get something better if I grind my own but I choose not to go to that much trouble.

Not good enough for me to buy it again.

I ordered a can of Folgers and one of Yuban.  We'll see how that turns out to be.  I had some Prime credits with Amazon so it didn't cost all that much and I'll have it by Tuesday.

Another workday vs weekend drinker here. My workday coffee is Folger's Black Silk. My weekend coffee is typically Black Rifle "Blackbeard's Delight." I will occasionally have something special if I happen to be someplace to get some or when someone buys me some.

I got Yuban once and never bought it again, I hope you like it better than I did.

One thing I forgot to say is I think any coffee tastes better if you use a percolator instead of Mr Coffee.

In my younger years, I used a stove top Vesuviana espresso maker with Madaglia D'Oro coffee.

For the last 40 years I use a Melitta pour-over maker.

My wife's girlfriend is a Starbucks Snob, so I brewed various strengths until she said it matched Starbucks.
For her it was 7 scoops, which I cut back to six scoops which is 3/4 cup.

Five scoops Kirkland de-caf (Arabica)
One scoop Winco Red Brick hazelnut decaf

One cap full of real vanilla

One dash of cinnamon.

8 cups / 64 oz of water

Try a Black Rifle Sampler.  Been very pleased with most we have tried.

As usual, more than the OP benefits from the Wisdom of the Saloon!

I've had Black Rifle coffee before but somehow (trust me, I can get in trouble just settin' in my easy chair!) I managed to miss that they even HAVE a sampler!

I'll rectify that fault in my process, many thanks!

Or, you can buy it directly from them.  https://www.firedeptcoffee.com/ They frequently run specials on their website.  I have also purchased a couple of their t-shirts that support their charitable work like one that supported CalFire.  Great organization.  Proud to support them.

Oh good!  I'm not the only one who has the concept of work week vs. weekend coffee.

I would drink FDC every day of the week, if I could afford it..................   It is a nice treat.

That raises the question,  if you have it every day, is it still a treat?

That's my feeling about Maxwell House and Dunkins.  I'll do without before buying either one again.

Folgers came yesterday.  Yuban won't get here until Saturday.  I mad some Folgers for lunch and wasn't very impressed.  I'l try some tricks to see they will help, but it tastes like it was burned when they were roasting it.

It's nine cents an ounce less expensive that Farmer Brothers, and fourteen cents less than the Yuban.
