Cholla Posted July 22, 2025 Posted July 22, 2025 I have used 1/2” CPVC for 38 caliber rifle speed loaders. What have you used for 45 Colt speed loaders? Quote
Kid Rich Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Take a piece of 45 brass and go to your local hardware store and find a piece of pvc it will fit in. kR 1 1 Quote
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Not being Snarky (But but I really am), but what improvement does a "speed loader" impart to shooting a stage?? Quote

Rye Miles #13621 Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 I had one for my .357 rifle but didn’t like it. It’s not that hard to load by hand in my 73’s. 2 Quote

Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Not what Cholla asked, but the Shotgun Boogie "'66-style" loading gate for the '73 makes loading by hand much easier. 4 Quote

Colorado Coffinmaker Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 PLUS ONE fer Abilene you betcha. Quote
Eyesa Horg Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Just one more thing to carry to the loading table and then deal with! Not to mention scratching your gun back and forth on the loading table as it generally takes both hands to operate, leaving you no way to hold the gun still or lever closed! JMLHO! Quote
Chancy Shot, SASS #67163 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 These are what I use for my Marlin. The Marlin bites my fingers. My 73 loads very easily and I don't need them for it. They are a little more complicated to make. The slot is made with a router. The plunger is a dowel captured by the slider. There are two sets of holes for the spring clip. One for 10 rounds and one for nine. Chancy 4 Quote
