SO , i had a glitch last night

i was temporarily blocked from posting to this site - i dont think i said anything offensive and im back on now so if i did i want a moderator to communicate with me about what it was so i can refrain from doing it again , i NEVER EVER want to be offensive here or anywhere , its never my intent nor desire to ever offend anyone , i have opinions as we all do but i try to temper my posts accordingly no matter how strongly i feel , 

 

i hope someone will tell me vit was something that affected the site - not just me - that prevented my being able to post or respond , my biggest concern was that i had made a sale on this site and couldnt communicate the tracking number of my shipment , i think its gone thru tonight as it seems im able to post tonight as usual , 

 

but - let me know if it was me , or a site issue - i will revise my activity as required if its me ,

Site was down.  Lots of us said to ourselves, "What did I do to be blocked????"  

Wasn't any of us, just the site needing more coffee. Or something.

Sort of amazing that anyone believed it was them.

 

A few months back when it did this the first time, I thought it was me. I had done something to piss off the SASS gods. But then I found out it was a website glitch. Not my fault.

 

So when I discovered, couple of days ago, that I could not post - I figured it was another glitch.

 

Upset that it was gone and happy to see it back. Missed it greatly. But knew it weren't me.

When I looked at the forums page and saw there had been no postings for a long time I knew there was an issue with the site and nobody was able to post. Then almost a day later posts started appearing again and I knew there would be lots of happy people.

Same here,  sort of.  A flash of,  "What did I do?"and then I recognized the screen.  "Ah! That narrow "Required" area for the text.  Did a quick check and saw no new comments in any Thread for 5 hours, which confirmed it.

Had all  that too, but wasn't sure if mine had just locked up as it wouldn't let me log out to try a reboot of my login! Finally I got a couple of texts about and  it showed up in posts on the the WB forum. Then I was sure I wasn't alone!

I like to post 2A items in TEAM SASS on Friday so folks can peruse them over the weekend. When I saw it wasn’t going on and saw other posts were hours old, I figured the server had a late night and was taking some time off.

Any time you come to the Saloon and don't see a new post from Subdeacon Joe for a half hour you know that the site is down.

You'll know that you said something "bad" when you look for something you posted and it's not there, or you get a "You don't have permission to view this" message. 

I've had my wrists slapped like that a few times.

Subdeacon Joe has over 53,000 posts. Alpo has 40,000. And Alpo has been around longer.

I used to post in The Wire. I still occasionally post in TEAM SASS, but I found that when it comes to posting about the goings on by the quockerwodgers and wethers in the Sacramento Reichstag, my main area of interest,  one of the bosses there has beat me to it by several hours.   So I'm mostly posting trivia of interest in The Saloon.

me too , but then ive not noticed anyone here really being offensive or saying things that deserve that , just my 2cents here but this is a very civil crowd , i only sytay where thats the case - if not i wouldnt be here

Nothing offensive, but I occasionally get too political in my commentary. I usually have a pretty good idea that I'm getting close to the line, and usually add a note for the Moderators telling them that if they have to delete it I understand. Sometimes though, I wind up getting a whole thread deleted, which is NEVER my intent.

yes , ive gotten a little too political a couple times as well , not to provoke , just hold strong opinions , its a shame civility has gone out of our political discourse , when i was young i remember family and family friends as well as the politicians using far more civil tones and actually having honest conversations over political things , sometimes even being somewhat convinced of opposing thoughts ,
