I hear someone kicking in my door, out comes the Smith & Wesson🤬

Door kicking is unfortunately an effective way to gain criminal entry into a structure.

Someone kicking the door unexpectedly is someone with less than kindly intentions.

My years in law enforcement were enough to teach me that such actions never, ever, end well!

Someone kicks in my door and enters my home there will be gunplay.

Point of the thing, no one wins.  If it is a crazy kid and a prank, shoot and both participants will loose everything in all but the reddest states, and possibly even there.

USCCA is a great idea unless you have a good lawyer.

Anyone kicking in my front door would hear the intense barking of my two dogs, which would alert me, probably causing me to break out, but not chambering a round. If further kicking or banging continued, I would call out loudly to "Get away from here!" If further action occurred, in addition to calling 911, I would back away from the door, but possibly chambering a round.  Should that occur at any other entrance, I would probably assume it was an attempt to actually break in. Won't say what I might do at that point!

There’s always the fear of the threat of being sued. Screw that! Lawyers, politicians and law enforcement can all go screw themselves with their hand wringing bull sh** and possible threats.
I am insured and I will fight whoever wishes to take my life or my freedom very vigorously from beating my door open to what may happen in the courtroom.

It’s time we quit acting like sheep and STAND!

Interesting crime and shooting. 3 teenagers, dressed in black, with masks, and guns tried kicking in a door. They fired a shot at the door. Owner responds with return fire. 3 kids now gone.  Witnesses backed up the sequence of events about the shooting. The DA said justified shooting, self defense. Parents are wanting the owner prosecuted. And they are suing. Lawyers will pile on and take the case.  Thats the real issue here. The court system should toss it out immediately.

Ike gets it.

The homeowner should be suing those families for failing their kids and causing distress to the homeowner and damage to their property.

Even if the DA doesn't prosecute you criminally, you will most likely face a civil lawsuit. Plenty of anti-2A lawyers that will take the case

Interesting comment by the police.

More critically, it can be mistaken as an attempted break-in, potentially prompting dangerous or defensive responses from homeowners."

An attempted break in? It can be mistaken as?

Somebody kicks in my front door, there is no mistake, and it is not an "attempted" break yet.

Maybe if the police would quit being so namby pamby and would say something like, I don't know, "kicking in someone's door will end your butt up in jail, if you're lucky, or in a hole in the ground if you're not!!"

Barretta 92 in my case!

And I won’t have to “chamber a round”!!
