Eyesa Horg Posted July 5, 2025 Posted July 5, 2025 Prayers up for our Pards that are affected down there.🙏🤞
Sedalia Dave Posted July 5, 2025 Posted July 5, 2025 Very Very sad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted. The river gauge at the confluence of the Hunt and Guadalupe River (closest to the camp) showed the river level increased over 20 feet in 30 minutes. How much above the 20 foot mark the river rose is unknown because the gauge stopped reporting,

Sedalia Dave Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 Per the latest report from Gov. Abbott, about 161 people are still considered missing. ☹️ https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/more-than-160-people-are-still-missing-after-texas-deadly-floods-gov-abbott-says#:~:text=The 161 missing were believed, who have lost their lives.”
WD Farren Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 A few years back, we took a driving trip to Sonora Caverns. At the hotel breakfast, we invited a fella sitting solo to join us. He introduced himself as Rod Johnson, said he was a driller. My wife giggled. Turns out, he is a PhD from Kerrville and explained to us how the Marfa Lights work. He lives in Kerrville, and I do hope that he and his are both OK after that flood.
Muleshoe Bill SASS #67022 Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 It is hard to understand the level of destruction on the Guadalupe as well as several area creeks and streams. There was so much water running that the river beds were cut deeper in some places about 5 feet into what was once the river bed. I leave you this picture.... This is a pickup truck buried in the riverbed by gravel and much...

Texas Maverick Posted July 13, 2025 Posted July 13, 2025 Last counselor from the girls camp has been found. Katherine Ferruzzo was devoted to caring for children, from the campers in her cabin at Camp Mystic to the students with special needs who she helped as a teacher aide at Spring Branch elementary schools. She had been the only counselor who remained unaccounted for until Saturday, when her family members said that her remains had been found. bit.ly/3TC4CO3 TM

Texas Maverick Posted July 14, 2025 Posted July 14, 2025 Sad news but at least closure for the families This is the kind of news that makes the world go still. All 27 girls who went missing during the July 4th floods at Camp Mystic in Kerr County, Texas, have now been confirmed dead. Early this morning, rescue crews found the final bodies in the Guadalupe River. The hope that families had clung to has now faded. Across Texas, more than 104 people have died in what is being called one of the worst disasters the state has ever seen. Grief hangs heavy everywhere. But in the midst of this indescribable sorrow, one voice stood out—not from a stage, but from the heart. Alan Jackson, the country music icon, donated $12.5 million to support the victims’ families and first responders. Then he quietly disappeared into a small recording studio near Austin. No band. No big production. Just his pain, a guitar, and a song. The result: a new version of “Tell That Angel I Love Her”—a raw, emotional country ballad that sounds like it was sung through tears. It’s not polished, but it’s real. And for many, it’s the one thing that’s managed to express what no one else could… Full story below TM
