Prayers up for our Pards that are affected down there.🙏🤞

Very Very sad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted.

The river gauge at the confluence of the Hunt and Guadalupe River (closest to the camp) showed the river level increased over 20 feet in 30 minutes. How much above the 20 foot mark the river rose is unknown because the gauge stopped reporting,

That is the group that is still missing from the young girls camp. Very sad indeed.

Over 100 dead now, so heartbreaking 😥😳😨

A few years back, we took a driving trip to Sonora Caverns.
At the hotel breakfast, we invited a fella sitting solo to join us.

He introduced himself as Rod Johnson, said he was a driller.
My wife giggled.

Turns out, he is a PhD from Kerrville and explained to us how the Marfa Lights work.
He lives in Kerrville, and I do hope that he and his are both OK after that flood.

It is hard to understand the level of destruction on the Guadalupe as well as several area creeks and streams. There was so much water running that the river beds were cut deeper in some places about 5 feet into what was once the river bed. I leave you this picture....  This is a pickup truck buried in the riverbed by gravel and much...image.jpeg.e8d3b4f8aab88196c4cd79f2e7989e71.jpeg

That picture of the buried pickup truck is an indication that many, if not most, of those missing may never be found.  :(

Thought the same. Unfortunately.

Last counselor from the girls camp has been found.

Katherine Ferruzzo was devoted to caring for children, from the campers in her cabin at Camp Mystic to the students with special needs who she helped as a teacher aide at Spring Branch elementary schools.
She had been the only counselor who remained unaccounted for until Saturday, when her family members said that her remains had been found.

Sad news but at least closure for the families

This is the kind of news that makes the world go still. All 27 girls who went missing during the July 4th floods at Camp Mystic in Kerr County, Texas, have now been confirmed dead. Early this morning, rescue crews found the final bodies in the Guadalupe River. The hope that families had clung to has now faded. Across Texas, more than 104 people have died in what is being called one of the worst disasters the state has ever seen. Grief hangs heavy everywhere.
But in the midst of this indescribable sorrow, one voice stood out—not from a stage, but from the heart. Alan Jackson, the country music icon, donated $12.5 million to support the victims’ families and first responders. Then he quietly disappeared into a small recording studio near Austin.
No band. No big production. Just his pain, a guitar, and a song.
The result: a new version of “Tell That Angel I Love Her”—a raw, emotional country ballad that sounds like it was sung through tears. It’s not polished, but it’s real. And for many, it’s the one thing that’s managed to express what no one else could…
