New Case gauge from Scarlett

I highly recommend these CNC made SAMMI spec case gauge blocks with flipper lid for 38 special from Scarlett Darlin.

https://www.facebook.com

When I started shooting I was checking six at a time in my pistol cylinder. Then I found a 50 round checker. But it did not fit any ammo boxes. So I still had to handle the rounds multiple times.

These new checkers make it easy to check 100 rounds and flip them into a Dillon or MTM 100 round box. Only have to handle the rounds one time.

I bought one of these 100 round case gauges from Tommy at the Ga match.  It works pretty good as long as you are real careful lifting the case gauge off of the rounds while they are balanced on the lid.  One round falls over and you got trouble.  If you have a pencil, you can carefully poke out any round that sticks and maybe save the alignment.  Checking 100 rounds at a time is still faster than checking 7 in my old case gauge.

It is a full block that is reamed to 38 special max length with a sammi spec reamer. The armov is half a block. You need a separate item to check length. Theirs is nice. But I personally like the one from Scarlett better.

Also, Scarlett is a SASS shooter and gives hugs with every purchase.

Yep! Scarlet is a very nice lady. Got to meet her at Hot Lead in Louisiana last year. She was very kind and gave my wife all kinds of advice on her shotgun handling.

BC, thanks for post.  I will certainly be checking into this item.  I am very serious in checking rifle rounds, especially for Sassy so she may be unlikely to experience an rifle jams  or such do to sizing of round.  Doing one at a time with chamber gauge or empty cylinder plus a visual is very time consuming (of course Sassy is worth it).

As to length, that is not a worry to me but if just half a check on round, more especially at crimp, sounds like a great tool to have..

Good going Scarlett.

@Scarlett also has a case checker for .32 H&R mags as well, it only holds 50 rounds but it is so much better than the single case gauge that I am currently using.  Well worth the cost.

So, does this tray somehow check for high primers by way of how it fits or is it more of a good opportunity to touch to check primers?  Can see where it works as case gauge but wondering about primers.

@Dream Chaser, SASS #79316when the cases are in the block should be smooth across the top. I visually look at it from two sides and run my fingers across the top. If you have a high primer you should be able to see it.

@Billy Boots, # 20282 LTG-Regulatorit is a great tool and Scarlett is always there for the SASS family.

@Krazy Kajun the 32 H&R checker is nice. I do not know of others that are made for checking 50 rounds. That one will fit the 50 MTM box too.

I have been using Armanov 100 round case gauges/flipper trays in a couple of calibers for several years and it's a great tool, precision crafted and very well finished, however they are made outside of the US in Slovenia.  If I had a choice today I would buy the one @Scarlett sells.  Supporting our community is important and @Scarlett certainly does her part.  Checking 100 rounds at a time is a huge time saver!

I am in line for the 50 rd .32 block!  I don't see it on her website yet.  @Scarlett please put me down for one, I'll catch up with you to get one.  I picked up a pair of nice cowboy Single Six 32's for my Dad and the 32 case gauge/flipper tray will save me some time on the reloading bench.

I love my gauge makes checking and boxing ammo an easy task. Only regret is it took this long to get one no more check seven and put them in the box.

I agree @Bucky Buckskin I wish I had one of these years ago. I have cycled thousands through my pistol cylinder to check them for fit and high primers.
These make it a lot easier.

Talked with @Scarlett

She has the 32 H&R 50 round checker in stock.  Also, 100 round 32 H&R, 100 round 45 ACP and 100 Long Colt in the works.

Here’s a video I made of the 38 100 round checker.  It was a couple tries to make sure I didn’t knock them over like @Badlands Bob #61228 said - but if it’s a flat surface and you FLIP IT with “attitude” it helps. Found an uncrimped 158 I’d loaded. I never checked my ammo like this before.

I’ll post video of using it on Merchant Corner  Hugs! ScarlettIMG_7268.thumb.jpeg.3301a42f6bf75ff627005e8c47393295.jpegIMG_7269.thumb.jpeg.408a58fa209f1fd7482dd4cd23e895ce.jpeg

They will work with MTM and Plano boxes for sure and probably other brands as well! I don’t use an old sock or coffee can… I use an AMMO can! 😂🤣

Hugs to you and Sassy!

Exactly right.  Socks have much better purpose.  If one does prefer coffee can, it best to dump out worms first.

That brand of boxes AMMO, isn;t just for sockets and wrenches.:P

I also have boxes with J & J on them but suspect made by MTM.

Got to have one of these "Check'r" trays.  I'm hinting of Father's Day.  Put out the word.  Scar, you done good years ago on the shotgun shell size.  Not that Sassy knows how to use it, just that it was a good thing for Billy to have (being the checker of her shells).

We've been buying the Armanov 100 round checkers in .38/357 & .45ACP and putting them on our raffle prize table at our annuals for a few years now.  Very popular items.  Whichever brand you decide on,  I highly recommend getting one.  They saved me in both Cowboy and Wild Bunch matches finding split/bulged cases of a number of occasions!

I do like the 'marking' tray the Armanov has to mark the rounds after inspection.

You could EASILY mark the cases with a sharpie as they sit in the block before flipping them.

looked at one at her both this weekend at PITV , im thinking on it , nicely made and looks like it will endure , she carries great products all around , and great to do buisness with as well as socialize with - bit of banter always brightens my day , this past weekend we needed some brightening as it was gray and dismal most of the time - and cool ,
