American Reloading dot com has Winchester SPP’s for $235/case plus tax delivered.  For me, that is $250. Save another $20 if you buy two cases.

I recently got win 209 primers from ar15 discounts for $200/5k no tax, shipping or hazmat.  They were slow to ship but I got them in about ten days.  American reloading had the win 209's at the same price and a friend ordered from them, same deal, a little slow to ship but he got them no problem.

Back in April they were doing Winchester large pistol. Same price. I ordered them and I received them.

 

Last month they were doing small pistol but I didn't have the available cash. This month they're doing Winchester small pistol again so I placed the order. They are supposed to arrive Tuesday.

 

I figure if it was a scam they would not keep telling me it's coming and give me a FedEx tracking number. And FedEx wouldn't tell me it's coming.

 

I understand where you're coming from though. When somebody first put the notice about the large pistol up, I didn't do it. Price was too good. Had to be a scam. And then somebody said that his had arrived, and the sale was still going on so I ordered.

They currently have Fiochhi 209 on sale. It's a little better price - I think it's 180 for 5,000. But it doesn't say anything about no tax, no shipping, no hazmat. So I figured the total on that would be about 230.

I was starting to wonder.

 

I get a notice that FedEx will bring them Tuesday.

 

Monday I get an email that they will not be here Tuesday. They will get here Thursday.

 

After waiting all day long, because you got to sign for them, at 7:00 last night I get an email that they will not arrive until today.

 

This morning I get another email and it says they will be here today, most likely between 11:30 and 1:30.

 

At 5:20 p.m. the guy FINALLY shows up.

 

 

But they did arrive.

Thanks Alpo for the heads up.
They came through just fine.  Ordered on a Monday and the FedEx package arrived the following Monday.  That’s quick enough for me. And   $250 for 5,000 primers is not bad.  Almost like ten years ago.

How are these compared to Federal with tuned guns with lighter springs? Winchester seems to be coming down in price faster than Federal.

Winchester primers seem to be right in the middle of Federal and CCI is regards to hardness / sensitivity.

When I started loading I used CCI. Many years later I bought a Model 642 Smith & Wesson. Hammerless. Because of that concealed hammer it had a shorter stroke so it didn't hit as hard. And it would not always go bang. So I bought some Winchester, because I heard they were softer. And all I loaded with the Winchester was 38 special, so I could shoot it in that 642 with no problems. Continue using CCI with the nine and the 40 and the 32.

 

Then I bought a PPK. And I was having the same problems -no go bang every time. So I started loading 380 with the Winchesters.

 

Found out the problem with the Walther. I bought it used, and a previous owner had performed a "trigger job". Cut two coils off the mainspring.

 

When I replaced that thing with a factory mainspring I no longer had failure to fire problems. With anything.
