Sandhills Slim, SASS #22998 Posted June 1 Posted June 1 “NO MAN’S LAND,” a SASS Sanctioned Match for ladies only is a competition made up of women and young girls of all ages who are members of SASS (Single Action Shoot Society) was held May 30-31, 2025 sponsored by the Savannah River Rangers in Gaston, SC. Congratulations to the Top Lady, Midwest Hale and Top Junior Girl, Elle Starr. This match exceeded my expectations in every way. I want to thank all who worked so hard to make this match happen. The props were awesome , stages were great and the door prizes were really nice. We had the pleasure of shooting a real Gatling gun before shooting our cowboy guns on one of the stages. Boy, was that fun. Also, thanks to all the sponsors and vendors who contributed to this fine match. Oh, and I don’t want to leave out all the men (spouses and others) who setup the steel, reset knockdown targets, picked up our brass, and worked the loading and unloading tables. I hope I didn’t leave anyone or anything out. We couldn’t have done it without their help. Thank you all so very much. The awards were awesome and so was the meal that was served at the end of the competition. I hear there are already plans in the works for this match to be held again at the same location, same time of the year in 2026. I hope to see more of our cowgirls shooting with us next year.
