Yep I have something for you.

I'm heading up around noon. Should be there around 2:00 unless the interstate is all torn up.

Hi, is this a 10 or 12 stage match?  Want to make sure we bring enough ammo.  Thanks.

Looking at the schedule Blackwater posted on page 3 of this thread, are we shooting in flights each day (am & pm) for the main match?  If so, wouldnt the pm shooters miss the Hillbilly olympics & ice cream social?  Asking for a friend.  😉

Not shooting in flights. The 2:00 start time is for the group of shooters that are shooting 2 categories. They shoot their second category after lunch each day. Main match is only one flight each day.

The afternoon shooting is for second category shooters. You could shoot Gunfighter in the morning and duelist in the afternoon. I believe there is a slight additional fee. Of course if you are shooting a second category why would you shoot anything but Outlaw? Not sure if there are enough shooters signed up for an afternoon posse. Check with Cat or Joe

@Blackwater 53393 I’m in Butte MT about to head to Great Falls MT tomorrow to shoot the Montana State Championship.  Just got back to my motel from eating dinner and these were parked out front and I got permission to take photos. Thought you might like to see them.

WELLL!!  The weather has sorta’ cooperated with rain cooling us off at times. The afternoon posse that shoots a second category got a little wet yesterday afternoon,  but by supper time everyone was smiling!

The. Bull riding was a hoot!  There were plenty of participants and nobody got killed!

Great food last night at the potluck dinner and plenty of entertainment all evening!

Mizz Pete!  We miss ya’!!  Get well soon!!

Tommy, you have no idea how much I miss being with all y'all.  And even worse - I let Cat down at the last minute.  Killing me.

Ms Bobby you know better than that.Things happen, you were/are missed. We muddled through thanks to great volunteers. Looking forward to the next one.

Mizz Pete!! We have learned a lot, working with with you the last couple of years!!   What we learned helped us a lot and we learned a lot more from doing it ourselves.  Those who know, appreciate ya’ and we want you to get better quickly and get back to hanging out with the usual suspects.

Hope ta’ see you soon!!

Miss Pete, I'm sorry to hear you weren't able to go to BG at the last  minute. That hurts.

At least you don't have to endure the 2nd saddest day of the year, the Sunday after the Big Party!

(1st saddest day is December 26)

Miss all of you Black Goldians!

Just got home from Black Gold. Another great time. Weather was not the best with the heat and rain off and on, but we all made it through. Thanks to the Jarvis family for taking care of us once again. A heart felt thanks to Boots for providing us a great venue to play this game. All the volunteers made sure we had plenty of cold water on the range and kept everyone hydrated. Special thanks to Tennessee Tombstone for wearing all the different hats this week to make things run smoothly.  From ROBS instructor for two days to match director, to posse Marshall, and awards announcer!  See ya all next year!

What Doc said!!!  They did a great job for being short handed.  Thank you so much to Boots!  Congrats to Bushaxe Jack & Slo Jen as overall winners!  Congrats to all the clean shooters & category winners!

The Creekers played at Black Gold after the awards. They just picked up two new fans! Plus, they are signing a recording contract with Warner Music (I believe) in a month or so. Great job Cat and Joe! Awesome place!

That young lady on the violin had some super-fast fingers on several songs.

Gunfighter material?

Lawdog Dago Dom, it was good to meet you and glad you and your better half made the trip down. Also glad you all enjoyed The Creekers. Remember they said they would come back even after they go big.

We want to thank everyone for coming to our annual party/shoot. Cant remember how many there have been but somewhere above 15 I think. Anyway we are already planning for next year so mark your calendar for the third weekend in July.

A big shout out and thank you to the folks who stepped up to pitch in when we found ourselves short handed. What a great bunch of friends. I cant name you all since Short term memory is lacking. But you know who you are and what you did above and beyone just shooting with us.

Hope to see everyone down the trail and next year at Black Gold 2026.

The  stretch raffle money goes to a local kids program there in Manchester. I dont have those figures yet but last year brought a few tears of gratitude. I am sure this year will be the same.

Where's all the pictures?  Yeah, I know: after bailing on you at the 11th hour I don't need to be askin' for nuthin'.  But I sure would like to see SOME of what I missed.

NOW BOBBIE!! You know what happens at Black Gold STAYS  at Black Gold!! 😜

Actually, I didn’t take pictures this year!  I only visited the range once because of my “mobility issues”, but I’ll bet someone has a few pics!!

I don’t know how you’d top the one of Zeke  Moregunz riding the mechanical bull!!

LDD. She’s real good, but if your gonna hang down here, you gotta refer to that as a Fiddle, not a violin, lol

Yes, I do.  But I wanna see the costumes, Kitty's RV decor; I know Zed IsDed is around there somewhere.  And who won the food/drink/ice cream wars?

Absolutely FANTASTIC time at Black Gold!!  Sad I did not get my Miss Bobbie fix and she did not get to try my Bourbon Butter Pecan Ice Cream I crafted just for her!

Black Gold has given my family more than memories.  I am grateful for the friendships we have formed over the years and what those have meant to Jace's maturation not just in this sport, but life!

Took a "recommended" route on the way in and ended up on narrow residential road that resulted in a road block of oncoming local traffic.  Was getting ready to let anyone know who asked that I was going to see "Uncle Joe."  They were great and moved cars aside so us tourists could get thru.

Had one brush with a stray dog on the drive in, but memories of Crooked Ear Charlie knocking up Sweetie and their 10 puppies kept me driving.

I will leave you with this.....

My ice cream won!

Rad's Rootin Tootin Gulf of America smoked fish dip came in a close second for snack to Angie Oakley's Pork Shots.

Chocolate coffee with cream cheese peanut butter frosting cake came up short to Biggun Bruce's better half's no bake lemon cheesecake.  I am coming back next year with my frozen berry pie, but don't tell anyone

Rad's Rootin Tootin Gulf of America grilled Wahoo was a bit dry for the judges.  Can't remember who won that.
