Cimarron SxS 12g vs Rossi Overland SxS 12g ?

I have the Opportunity to purchase a Rossi Hammered SxS 12g  in mint Condition or a

New Cimarron Hammered SxS 12g 

For approximately the same price around 550.00 Deliverd to me .

 

So I'm just looking for opinions on both shotguns ?

Well, both of them are built hell for stout.  There are, however more parts available for the Cimarron.  The Rossi has been out of production for a long long time.  I'd personally favor the Cimarron.  The Cimarron is much more "Classic" looking shotgun.  However, my current batch of Hammer Doubles are:  A Pedersoli, and TWO Pietta.

I started out with a Rossi hammered double; it was a great budget friendly option at the time(borrowed it for my first 6 matches). BUT the hammers are way too far apart and best I remember the chambers are a bit further apart than a TTN/Cimarron. Were I choosing today I’d go with the Cimarron. 
 

That said I think you should get the Rossi and let me know where the Cimarron is so I can buy it

I have had a Rossi, TTN's, and Cimarron. The Rossi is lighter but the hammers are quite a bit smaller and more pointed than the TTN and Cimarron. Way easier to sweep the hammers on those 2. I've been shooting my Cimarron for the last several matches and haven't had any problems with it. I would go with it myself unless the lighter weight is needed more.

Coffinmaker makes a really great point .

Even though they both are built like tanks .

Parts availability is the key factor here .

I think I should go with the Cimarron just based on that factor alone .

Having owned both, my preference is the Cimarron. I don’t own the Rossi anymore and don’t miss it. The Cimarron is built like a tank and is easier to cock both hammers at once.

I can't speak for the Rossi since I have never owned one, but I can speak for the Cimarron. I picked up a CZ Hammered coach that is beautiful and had been slicked up professionally but I still prefer the hammers on the TTN/Cimarron.

For those with Overland experience.  Have the improved and modified chokes been any issue for knock downs?
