Well, that WAS a stupid question, wasn't it. I wasn't aware there was such a thing for Rugers, learn something new every day.

Thankfully, Kid Rich showed me his Transfer Bar stunt double. Nifty!

Great, now send it off to Ken Griner and get it ready for some great fun with a great shotgun.

Ken Griner will fix that.

Let him do it! You'll thank me later.

Love my Longhunter CZ and it opens easily.

Tried to ship it this morning, and the FFL stopped me on the way in, "Our girl who does pricing for UPS called in sick, come back Monday."
Really?

I don't have many options in the horse and a half town, so I guess I wait until Monday!

On the other hand, I DID successfully drive with the Club on my right hand.

25 cent ramen, cut up Dollar Store hotdogs, cheap frozen broccoli, boil together, add soy sauce and Louisiana Hot Sauce and you have Glop - I lived on that stuff for a while.

I like cup ramen with sriracha and yum yum sauce. Usually throw in some garlic and if it needs extra something I have canned chicken or mackerel lol

There ya go, El Cheapo meals. My NEW wife encourages me to cook, so I have expanded both the taste selection AND my waistline, (way too much), and I am making stuff I could never have even dreamed of before. She has bought me a TON of cooking tools and vessels, and I am having the time of my life. Did I mention the kitchen is MINE?!?!? 😆

I won't make it out to the FFL until Thursday, but with his backlog, I think a few more days won't make a difference anyway. I ordered the tool from Longhunter to replace my Stoeger's firing pins, so I think that little beast can continue to soldier on for a while while the pampered pets gets her beauty treatment.

Sounds like you escaped the demon ex wife and found a princess, Congo rats!

You can relive the nostalgia of El Cheapo meals with me when I make my way to AZ in the future!

C'mon down any time, amigo, but ya might wanna avoid summer weather - it was 114 when I made it to work today. However, is IS a dry heat... 🤠

im not sure exactly where this thread was meant to go - but in the very early 70s my wife and i were working multiple jobs to keep me in school and to survive , i was prone to taking on another job if need be to feed us , sometimes i had four part time jobs at once as well as going to school full time - you do what needs doing , im glad ill never see that again , mostly the need but equally the hours exerted , but when your young you do what you have to ,

so if i missed the context of this conversation im sorry but either way it needed saying , too many these days think you dont have to pay your dues , if you work a lot of part time to fit your schedule or get a full time out of school - you still will pay the dues of making your way , its good because you will always know you can and you dont need any charity to get it done

The thread goes where the thread goes, sir, and been there, done that, worked security at night and bellhop during the day. I worked two jobs when I had my ex-wife lazing about eating up all my cash until I realized that no matter how hard I worked, that mouth would open up more and take every extra bit there was. I found every way to stretch that food dollar. And I agree, VERY glad I don't have to do that any more! My new wife and I make more than enough to stay afloat, saying I had to save up the money to pay Mr. Griner was really somewhat of a joke, especially since he wants payment after it's done.

BTW, in the very early 70s I was in pre school. Just sayin'...

It’s been raining off and on for weeks - the humidity in my house says it’s over 60% - I’ll take a go at dry heat lol

Rain + high wind = RIP to my sunflowers in the garden.

Feels like Ohio is trying to imitate Florida weather!

Wow, I can respond again...and I've got an update! Not really a good one.

See, I dropped the shotgun off at my FFL last Friday, not yesterday, as I didn't want to mail it through USPS, which is legal to do so with long guns. I figured an FFL to FFL transfer was safest with this unfired beauty, right?

Oh, foolish me.

When I first went there last Friday, they said the girl who does the UPS stuff was out sick. Mind you, this is a pawn shop, because very few FFLs around this place will send guns OUT, but very happy to charge to get guns IN. C.A.L. Ranch, looking at you... Probably @Kid Rich would be able to tell me where I should have gone, quite frankly I should have asked him first! But then we wouldn't have this rant to read!

So, the girl is sick, but I have been doing business with the family that owns this shop for literally decades, including two shops they had before, one down in Marana, so I trust them. I left it with them with the appropriate instructions, and said I'll call you tomorrow, Saturday. I had no qualms at all about leaving the gun there.

So...I call Sat, and the girl is in, can't get to UPS until Tuesday. Ok...fine, but I need to let Mr. Griner know, only the right thing to do. So I told him what was going on and he said thank you.

So, Tuesday comes around and I am like Wimpy, waiting to give out money! OK, not like Wimpy, but still, it's Tuesday...and the girl is out sick again. Only one person in the whole store can do this?
I have to work Graveyard 12-hour shifts, and I have other things to do in my life, including HAND surgery, so I finally get ahold of them on Thursday, more than slightly irritated and lo and behold, the girl who does UPS answers!

I am taking it down today, come pay us tomorrow!

Hallelujah, not like it's been almost a WEEK or anything! I called them Friday morning after I had my traditional Friday brunch at Hong Kong Kitchen, (best Chinese place in Casa Grande, bar none, good food, good people, have to go Fridays while the wife is sleeping for her Graveyard shift because she doesn't like Chinese food), and I am told, hey, it went out today...via USPS.

Say what?

Oh, yeah, UPS wouldn't take it because it's a firearm.

FFL to FFL, and UPS refused it?

Yeah, so I had to take it to the Post Office.
I could have mailed it out myself a week ago.

No, you can't without a FFL firearms declaration.

Hmm, that seems odd, because I've personally already done it, admittedly about 7 years ago, mailed a Ruger 10/22 from here to Texas via USPS, completely legally.

Well, you can't and you owe us $70.

I am questioning several of my life choices at this point, practicing my breathing control and remembering the Lord wants us to turn the other cheek. I went down to the store, explained myself, managed to leave on good terms, even bantered with the owner's wife for a little bit...but it will be a cold day in Hades before I trust them again.

So, my precious cargo is in the tender mercies of the United States Postal System...without even insurance. We pray it makes it intact.
