Store hours

Why is it that, when searching the net, I find so many stores DO NOT post their hours of operation?

 

One would think that this information and a contact phone number would be easier to find, but I have had to go to four or five different websites to simply find out what time they are open.

 

It's almost as if some places don't want my business...nor yours either.

I sure miss the yellow pages for local business as well.

I read this,  though,  "Huh!" and search a half dozen local stores. A couple didn't have websites...which is odd.

One of the searches,  representative of all, looked like:

 

 

when I clicked on the drop down menu,  i got 

 

 

Those are just on the search results.   When I went to the website,  I scrolled to the bottom of the home page and saw

 

 

2 other were the same,  and 1 I had to click on the menu bar and found Hours, clicked on that and it took me to the page with the hours.

I’ve never had a problem getting store hours on the stores websites. If it’s a small business with no website than I Google them and usfind the phone number. I can’t remember when I had to do that in the last 10 years or so.

The ones I find annoying are the ones that do not have a website. They just advertise on Facebook.

 

Because EVERYBODY is on Facebook. So you do a search for 40 Rod Chihuahua Breeders, and instead of giving you a link to 40rod.com it gives you a link to their Facebook page. And half the time, if you are not a member of Facebook, you can't open the damn Facebook page.

 

Makes it real hard to find the address and the hours of operation for the business.

 

I've looked up a couple of businesses and all the search engine will give me is their Facebook page and their Yelp reviews. But no website. In this day and age - no website?

I make deliveries and some businesses list business hours that bear no resemblance to their actual hours.  They are more place fillers than actual information.  "Monday-Friday 8-5"?  Well, 8's pretty early some days so maybe someone will come in about lunchish.  Nobody wanted to come in on Tuesday.  Wednesday someone was there ~6 to 7PM.  Thursday it was open 10:30 to noon.  Friday?  Nah, long weekend.

 

Call for an appointment?  Good luck with that.

I used to find that annoying as well. I just won’t do business with them if Facebook is all they use. Simple.

Same here. Rarely do I have a problem…finding business hours, I mean.

We still get three different Yellow Pages every year.  They are pretty much useless, companies that have been out of business for several years, changed addresses, or moved out of my range.  Even the police departments and emergency outfits (not all, but some) have changed something vital.  BTW, phone "information" is now nearly as useless and it's very nearly impossible to reach an operator.

 

I had to call 911 one day a few weeks back just to reach Animal Control.  The lady who answered asked why I called 911 if this wasn't an emergency.  I told her and she said she'd pass it on and someone would call me soon.  No one ever called but they did send someone to get the dog.  I hope he found a good home because he would be a keeper for someone who wanted a young, enthusiastic, very friendly, and beautiful pup, just too energetic for my "old lady" dog to deal with.

Why should I have to go to five or six to gat this information?  There should be a single site to see what their hours are, directions to their place of business and a contact number.  May do but an infuriatingly large percentage don't.

 

I also resent a contact number promising to get in touch shortly and never getting a call.....ever  Cracker Barrel is famous for this, so are some others.

 

Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight, most electrical and construction companies in my area, and At Home are models everyone should copy.
