Charlie MacNeil, SASS #48580 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 Does anybody make such a thing? I know it's a long shot, but I'm curious. I love the Eagle gunfighter grips that Rajh built for my Old Model Bisleys, and it would be pretty cool to have a set for my 58 Remingtons...
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 Charlie, is it the thinness or the checkering? I put Arizona Custom Grips on two pair of '58's because my hands are smaller. Look about halfway down the first page of this topic: https://forums.sassnet.com/index.php?/topic/378277-remington-58-timing-edit-shot-wbp/ They are thinner than stock except at the top. There is stippling between the scrolls - easier to see on the black grips. It is not aggressive at all, which is fine for me because I typically don't care for the feel of checkering, but they feel very secure and non-slip in the hands. If it is mainly checkering that you want, you could always send a pair of wood grips to be laser-checkered. edit to add: they also have some checkered grips without scrolls, I expect they are thinner than stock as well but I don't know: https://azcustomgrips.com/collections/uberti-1858-remington
Lucky R. K. Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Here is a pair of '58's I checkered several years ago. I really like them except for the long hammer throw. Lucky

I like the thinner lower part with the checkering with the swells at the top. They fit my hands and stubby fingers well!
