Preacherman Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I likewise got an email from the same, no PM. Very suspicious. As I was looking for a hard to find dillon auo primer feeder conversation for large primers. I'll carefully followup as I'm curious. Quote
Dallas McBoomboom Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I got the same message from the same address. Quote

Under the scam category, nobody joins a forum to inform someone they know someone who has a desired item. Under the forum metrics category, answers the question of if PM count shows up in post count. Clearly not. Admins might be able to see this detail, and it would be a useful software enhancement... Notify moderators when a member joins and sends PMs without ever making a post. An additional enhancement would be to not enable PMs until a member has made at least a small number of posts. 5 is typical for various forums I am on. Posting items for sale requires far more posts (30 to 50), but even these forums have a "seller beware" stance as new members can reply to existing classified posts. On those forums, good luck buying anything if not a participating member. There have been discussions on those forums of making classified invisible until at least the same minimum post count as for enabling PMs. Cracked passwords (hijacked accounts) is still an issue. Rare but seems to happen. Now if folks could just stop transacting business based on texts and emails, this would probably make the biggest difference here. Do the business only by PM, folks! Followups of additional pics or info by text or email is fine, but no money, no address, no shipping, no tracking, or other "business" details except by PM. And this only with participating members. This will leave only the rare hijacked account exposure, which we all need to keep in mind as it could be either a buyer or seller. Edited April 15 by John Kloehr 2 Quote
