Creeker, SASS #43022 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 The Nevada Rangers CAS club has recently moved from their old stomping grounds of the Clark County Shooting Park in North Las Vegas to the Boulder City Rifle and Pistol club in Boulder City Nevada. While unfortunate for the shooters in North Las Vegas; this is a very positive move for the club and CAS in Southern Nevada. The Clark County range is beautiful; but had costs associated with its use that were prohibitive to any positive growth of the Rangers club. So, the Rangers are now sharing space with the Eldorado Cowboys at BRPC - shooting the 2nd Saturday and following Sunday. (Eldorado shoots the 1st Saturday and following Sunday) Why is this a positive? Well one - Our sport has lost too many venues and clubs lately; so any situation which allows for better financial stability and longevity of a club is a GREAT thing; the Rangers are also using this opportunity to attempt to give Wild Bunch a stronger foothold by holding a regularly scheduled Wild Bunch match in Southern Nevada. The Rangers are shooting CAS on their Saturday and WB on their Sunday events (something that they simply could not afford to do in their old situation). So I would like to invite anyone in the area to join us at BRPC on the 2nd weekend for a round of CAS or WB (or both). To whet your appetites - I am posting the CAS stages for the Saturday match May 2025. We are currently shooting six stages on two bays due to smaller turnouts - but we would love to have the attendance to have to do more. If you have any questions or will be in the area - please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to answer any questions (and if I don't know - I'll get you in touch with someone who does) Hope to see you there, May 10th CAS - May 11th WB Rangers May 2025.pdf 9 1 Quote
Yul Lose Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Your new venue is outstanding. I shot the DamSite match and was very impressed with the new range. Hope to be up there in the fall to shoot with your group. Quote

The new Board of the Eldorado Cowboys is a hard working group and I am sure they will put on a fantastic event. Quote

And that shooting a Creeker stage elevates all; from the speediest and even to the slowest and most afflicted Duelist like yourself. Blessings be upon you, my son. 2 7 Quote
Creeker, SASS #43022 Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 (edited) I'm just amazed that no one has shredded me for the sheer narcissistic act of putting my own sweep in the match. And then further attempting to curry favor with the wife by putting hers in too. But hey, I am what I am - if Desert Scorpion wasn't working Saturdays in our gun shop; I would have stuck her sweep in there as well. I'm tempted to go back and add in the "Shooting Bull" sweep to entice his attendance... Two rifle rounds placed on a pistol target Then three into the berm Then jack out four rounds Then Stage the rifle with a round remaining on the carrier. Realize you left your pistols at the loading table and your shotgun shells at your cart. Sing, "I'm a little teapot - short and stout" and proceed to the unloading table. 🤪 Edited April 15 by Creeker, SASS #43022 9 Quote

The Eldorado/ Rangers now have a dedicated shooting area - so the days of closing down the public range for CAS events is over. I believe there are opportunities for semi permanent facades and building fronts and with the range now home to the Nevada State Championships and the Western Regionals - the skies the limit. And who knows? Maybe I'll twist some arms and see if the old Nevada Rangers annual, "Stampede" might be possible as well. 2 Quote

Naw, he tried that once in Phoenix - didn't go well and then I had to be nice to him during recovery.
