Yeah, I know for many of you that have been doing this for 20-30 years, you couldn't remember your 4th match to save your life. :) But dagnabbit, I'm having a great time. Even got an action shot of Da Boss - no faces, only my ugly mug, I know, you're thinking, why'd HAVE to inflict that on US? Well, neener. 🤪
. After I got home, I went to the reloading room, tumbled the brass and loaded up enough 38Spl ammo to replace everything I shot today.

Oh, and I got one of these, but I think that's because there were only two shooters in the category. No, I still haven't shot a clean match - I screwed up and short stroked my 92, lost a round, and FORGOT I put a spare ammo carrier on the right side of the belt exactly for that problem...fail to train, train to fail. Oops.

Doesn't matter, I still had a blast.

So, how was your weekend?

Good for you.  I can't remember last year's matches ( I missed the first one for this year ) much less the fourth.  Keep going.  Over the years I have made just about every mistake/brain fade there is.  Just when I think I'm good to go, I start all over again.  Enjoy the game.

I may not remember my fourth match but I do remember that feeling.  Keep at it, it only gets better.

I see by your pictures you are shooting where the grass does not grow.  Every place has its +'s and -'s.  Come shoot in Iowa.  Dust does not get into your guns, but rain might.  Finding brass in the grass is always a treat.  Glad you have found your way to a great sport!

Did you go to lunch afterwards and talk about all the stuff you did? That doubles the fun.

No, my wife was unable to attend due to other obligations, so after cleanup and awards, I went home to the best thing that ever happened to me.

That's beautiful, sir...and full of bugs...😁 Just kidding, that looks awesome, and you probably get that weird frozen stuff on the ground too - down here we only find it in SnoCones. However, I actually have a small connection to Iowa, as my stepfather was born in Eldora a VERY long time ago.
Ya'll probably have those nice gentle soaking rains that last for days, too...we get gully washers that last about 30 minutes and erase towns.

4th match was End-of-Trails last year.   Go big!    Absolute blast and I'm addicted.   Now if I could just stop myself from buying stuff.

That was something I've commented on - we seem to have a lot of grumpy people here in the desert, I think, something about the heat, scorpions and snakes, possibly. But when we visited friends out by Kilgore, Texas, I was stunned by the Southern Hospitality and just plain nice people...one reason why we are considering retiring out there. The desert has her own beauty, if you look for it, but if you turn your back on her, she will kill you without hesitation.

I forgot to mention one very cool thing that happened during the match, twice! No, has absolutely  nothing to do with SASS, and if I had been thinking, I'd have gotten a few pictures. We got buzzed at quite low altitude by Miss Mitchell, the B-25 out of Falcon Field with the Commemorative Air Force - THAT was cool, even neater when she came by again an hour later. The sound of freedom echoed with those big Wright Cyclone engines howling!

yup , the people os SASS are great , the locals pests not so much when you travel , i do travel and will continue as long as i keep meeting great people [of SASS] across the country , but i need to retire the third time before im that free , at 75 i find myself still employed a good portion of each week , graned in a far different capacity than my previous two stints - but im having a great deal of fun dealing with high school trap leagues these days , it has given me a lot of hope for the future dealing with so many great kids abooutr to take over the world , IN SPITE OF THE CURRENT EDUACATIONAL CONDITION , these kids are smart , cultured , personable , and motivated , all things i admire , im proud to be a part of it and to know them ,

We don't need no stinking  practice  !

The Game itself is Practice .
