Medicine Creek Kid Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Hello all. There will be a stage sponsored in memory of Major Art Tillery at Comancheria Days 2025. We’ve been given permission to leave flowers at the base of his sign for anyone who is wishing to. I know many of us weren’t able to make his memorial service when he passed. Hope to see y’all out there. - Medicine Creek Kid
Silver Creek Jack Posted April 5, 2025 Posted April 5, 2025 Thank you for this Medicine Creek Kid, very nice gesture.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 I shot the match earlier with the workers so didn't notice the memorial until I was out delivering shooter prizes. It was nice, I should have taken a picture. @Medicine Creek Kid , maybe you (or someone) can tell me, was there a significance to the partial bottle of RC Cola? I'm assuming that was his choice?

Major was not a drinker... alcohol that is. He did like RC cola though. 😀 The memorial was very thoughtful and much appreciated. He was a great friend and will be missed by many. I would have had him at that match to compete but as his real cowboy life dictated, he would have been working cattle in April anyway. He would have loved that Texas Hill Country range there.
SilverLocks Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 Abilene, Travis and I placed the RC cola and a Cherry Mash For Major. Major was the type of cowboy that could make a redneck southerner substitute a Cherry Mash for the Moon Pie with her RC cola.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted April 18, 2025 Posted April 18, 2025 Thanks, Silverlocks. I never had the pleasure of meeting the man. My loss.
