Jackrabbit Joe #414 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Evil Roy yep; Best of the best. Met him many years ago, been to his school in January 2001 at Cow Town Range. First EOT in 2000 shooting with Marlin Cowboy rifle got the Marlin jam and without hesitation he took that rifle from me and took it apart and got me going again. and I still ended up getting 7th place in my category. Congratulations to him and well deserved wishing him the best. Jackrabbit Joe #414 1 Quote
doc roy l. pain Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Well deserved. I owe a lot of my fun and success to taking his class. Taught me how to practice and attack a stage. I remember something he told me the first time I met him. To paraphrase it was something like this “ I rarely win speed events and hardly ever win a stage, but what I do is, I win matches “ 5 Quote
Max Payne Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I started with 2 Evil Roy .38's 12 1/2 years ago. I was having trouble with one right out of the box. I was ordering some holsters from Bob Mernickle & mentioned the trouble I was having. Bob said, "I know somebody who will want to know about that!). 20 minutes later I got a phone call from Evil Roy, & he said, send that gun to me. It's got my name on it, & I can't have that". I sent it to him & he had Ken Griner fix it at his cost & sent it back. Needless to say, I was impressed. 1 Quote

Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) He was my posse marshal at my first EOT in 2005 at Founders Ranch. Got to watch him, his wife and Holy Terror shoot. They did not look particularly fast but were very smooth and when the time was called out - WOW. After they moved to Texas they would occasionally come and shoot at our local matches. Nice Folks!
