Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I have noticed something that simply spell SCAM! So many of the ads on the internet for wonderful sounding products have very detailed info about the amazing gizmo that they are pushing but I can't find a price for it! Some of these ads are in places like Amazon (A company I enjoy doing business with) and even Harbor Freight, Home Depot, and others. What are they trying to hide? Quote
Linn Keller, SASS 27332, BOLD 103 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 It's not your imagination, I've seen it too. Like your honored self, if it's not priced, I fight shy of it. 1 1 Quote
Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Get an AdBlock extension on your computer. You won't get ads. That way when you look for something on Amazon, you'll BE on Amazon. 2 Quote
Texas Joker Posted March 15 Posted March 15 These days folks don't care what a thing costs, they care what the payment is per month 1 Quote

Most ads for autos, furniture or even appliances show a per month $ not the price. And there are at least 3 services that email me that at point of sale they will finance as little as 100 dollars. 4 easy payments of ... Monthly payment is the driver not total cost 1 Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted March 15 Posted March 15 (edited) I think it's to get more activity (clicks) on the site. Something ti do with getting it higher in search engines. I just Add To Cart, then View Cart, look at the price, then Remove From Cart. Costs me an extra 20 to 30 seconds. Think about going shopping. You see something interesting on the shelf, look for the tag on the front of the shelf, lean in real close to try to read and make sense of the Product Description that's printed in 3.5 point font to make sure the $1.29 is for the #3 can that's right above it and not the #303 can a foot to the right. I find that more aggravating and time consuming than a few extra keystrokes on the computer Edited March 15 by Subdeacon Joe 3 Quote
