July Smith Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Loading up some shot shells with APP. New bottle never been opened. Had it for 2-3 years in my reloading shop (not climate controlled). I noticed some large lumps as though humidity had made it into the bottle. They crumbled back down to normal with just a little poking and seemed to load up fine. Just curious if anyone else has seen this or experienced issues from this? Quote
La Sombra Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Pretty much in each bottle. If new (recently opened) and their is space at the top of the bottle, I just shake it up to break it up. Otherwise I pour through a funnel into a container and break up the pieces. No real performance issue. La Sombra 5 Quote

Dogmeat Dad, SASS #48563L Posted March 14 Posted March 14 That problem has been around for a while, shaken, then pored through a funnel, does the trick for us. I have noticed that the newer bottles (or at least my latest batch) have a rubber gasket built into the cap and that seems to be doing the trick to keep the moisture out. Save up the desiccant packs from your bottles and toss a few extra ones into any bottle that you open and it seem to help too. Love this stuff (and the Goex Pinnacle before it that was the same stuff)! I think by this time Holli and I have been through well north of 150lbs of the stuff. I wonder if APP gives out a special pin when you hit 250lbs? 2 Quote
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Like they said totally normal for years, all the way back to when it was called Cleanshot. I don't use a strainer, but you do need to get all the little pieces broken up before dumping it into your measure. 1 Quote
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I have had this in every bottle I have ever had from the start of Clean shot all the way to current production. I just shake the hell out of it or I push on in in the container with a wooden spoon. Never not had any issues or not go bang . Rooster Quote
Smokin Gator SASS #29736 Posted March 15 Posted March 15 More then 20 years ago I used some Cleanshot before it was APP. It was a lighter Grey color. Quote

Colorado Coffinmaker Posted March 15 Posted March 15 YEPPER!! I was hoping to make some ethereal proclamation and provide instant confidence. Oh Well. Just about EVERYBODY beat me to it. APP is and has been know to clump. No biggie. Just put a stick of some sort into it and break up the clumps. Performance doesn't change at all. APP is absolutely GREAT STUFF!! A GREAT BIG PLUS ONE for All of The Above you betcha!! 2 Quote
