Okiepan Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hard to believe next year will be the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and this year is the start of the 250th anniversary of the American revolution, So who remembers what you did during the Bicentennial 1976 ??? 2 1 Quote
Pat Riot Posted March 11 Posted March 11 It was the summer between my 10th and 11th grade years in High School. I lived in my home town. Population 5000. There was a festival at the county fairgrounds with a pretty impressive fireworks show. It was a great time. Quote
Boggus Deal #64218 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I remember watching the 4th of July fireworks show in the little town of Cartersville, GA that has not been equalled since! Quote

Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Was living and working in NYC at the time. Got to watch the first ever Tall Ships parade sail down the Hudson River. Despite large crowds under and on top of streets, everyone was in a good mood and behaved themselves that day. 2 Quote
J-BAR #18287 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Prior to creating our daughter, I spent the night of July 4, 1976 in the ICU of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine, taking care of the day's surgical patients. One was a 100 lb. + German Shepherd named Heinz, who was sensitive about anyone interested in his anal operation. I missed out on the fireworks at the football stadium. 1 2 Quote
Yul Lose Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) We’d just moved to Casa Grande, Az. from Sheridan, Wyoming and couldn’t believe the heat. My oldest daughter had just been delivered by a doctor in his little office. She wasn’t going to wait to be born in a hospital. Edited March 11 by Yul Lose 2 Quote

Calamity Kris Posted March 11 Posted March 11 My father loaded all us into a rented motorhome and drove us across the country to see things like the tall ships in New York. We visited Boston Harbor, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island where my mother had come through..... Lots of cool things. 2 Quote
