Dantankerous Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Was shooting a Navy Arms BP frame 45 Colt 1873 this weekend when the gun locked up. Upon removing the cylinder I discovered the firing pin bushing was gone. I can find a part online (probably uses a Colt part?) but what is best way to install this? Send in to a gunsmith? Thanks for any helpful suggestions. Quote
Boggus Deal #64218 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I made a T shaped anvil that fit in the hammer slot, a driver that fit down through the bore and put a little sleeve retainer on the bushing and in the hole. Quote
Warden Callaway Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I don't think Colt bushing will fit. Made by Pietta? I bought this Colt first generation like this. I sent it to Bill Fuchs for repair of action. He didn't feel the crude pining of the bushing was a problem. Quote
Tex Jones, SASS 2263 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I had one come loose on a USFA, but it wasn't lost. A smith reset it. If you look at the Midwest Gun Works web site they have Uberti bushings. Best to be set by a smith. Quote
