They are beautiful guns but not exactly a Colt SAA.  They are a little bigger like Uberti.  Seen this one east of Knoxville at Bud's Guns.

Normally, this is where I'd jump in as say "No, Standard Mfg" does not make a SAA.  Only Colt makes The SAA.  But, not gonna do that.  Standard Mfg does make a Replica, but their "replica" is actually a replica of a USFA, which is a replica of Uberti, which is only a replica of Colt in passing.  Ain't guns Fun!!!

I need to see comparison photos with measurements, because I've always known that rugers are GIANT compared to a proper peacemaker, but I've never heard that ubertis are bigger than colts before.

Very quick measurement on cylinder diameter: Colt 1.651" Uberti 1.667" (typing while Warden posted the kuhnhausen page)

Pietta is pretty close to a Colt . I always heard the rumor that Standard Manufacturing bought out the tooling from USFA when they went out of business. So that’s why they build the Uberti size pistol

I used to live in CT, and owned many USFA guns, visited the USFA factory many times in the original Colt building as well as there final new factory. I believe it's true that Standard Manufacturing  did buy most of the machinery from USFA. USFA built a replica of the Colt SAA, Standard Manufacturing is building replicas as well. The Standard SAA are equal to or even better than the ones that USFA build in the last years.  BTW I was able to visit Colt's factory where they build SAA and was able to purchase a number of guns from the factory through a SASS shooter that worked in the Colt Custom shop.

Ellie's dad worked there in the Colt  building with the blue dome and gold stars. Late 40s IIRC. We,be got a few of his pay stubs. All hand written! Don't remember the pay off hand. :(

One of my match Piettas has a second gen Colt cylinder in it and it runs perfectly.  The original cylinder had poorly machined bolt slots.
